BROWN FENOLLOSA ARCHITECTS Inc was founded by partners Zeke Brown and Josh Fenollosa in 2006. Most of BFA's projects are in Boston and the surrounding area, and the office has completed projects in Cape Cod, the Berkshires, New York City, and upstate New York. Both Zeke and Josh are Registered Architects and BFA is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New York. The partnership represents over 25 years of design and construction experience. BFA is a client focused Architectural Design studio. We specialize in Residential, Non-Profit Institutional, and Commercial design. Our goal is to provide innovative design solutions that exceed client requirements while generating modern, vibrant spaces that respect clarity, durability, and economy. Our designs embrace a vernacular New England palette and the clean aesthetic of Modernist Architecture. We are interested in the ‘means and methods’ of building, and we pay close attention to detailing and construction. BFA has a shop that is used for the production of prototypes, mock-ups, and finished architectural elements. Zeke Brown and Josh Fenollosa are both graduates of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Prior to founding BFA, Zeke Brown practiced in numerous firms in the Boston area, including The Office of Peter Rose, Leers Weinzapfel Associates, and Kyu Sung Woo Architect Inc. Zeke also brings over 5 years of experience as a builder to the partnership. Upon graduation from the GSD, Josh practiced in New York City with the Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership, where his clients included actors Robert DeNiro and Steve Martin. Upon return to Boston, Josh designed residential and institutional projects with Jeremiah Eck Architects.
