About Us

We are a comprehensive Design/Build, fully licensed, Architectural firm located in rural Dutchess County, New York. The area we serve includes Dutchess County, Columbia County, and nearby Litchfield County, Connecticut. Our projects include major residential additions, historic renovations, as well as new construction through Riemer Construction. We also offer consulting on a hourly fee basis for first time clients who desire to meet and explore the possibilities for their new home, addition and/or renovation. Renovations are typically more costly, as there may be remediation involving repairs to move forward with the design created. Unexpected conditions may be revealed, and we address work done incorrectly by others before construction of addition. We have a passion for details, therefore, we find working with a contractor who is familiar with our quality of design and details enables us to move along seamlessly as the project evolves to a finished space our clients will appreciate and enjoy. Our philosophy is to build with quality so you may enjoy the space where you live well into the future.

I enjoyed working with licensed architect, Darlene Riemer, as her professionalism to her craft was astounding. Her guidance, knowledge of materials, design expertise, and developing the construction drawings were sensitive and site specific. This resulted in having my home sit comfortably on the hillside as though it were there forever.

Darlene designed a new house for us which has the integrity of classic design and blends with the surrounding antique vernacular architecture. She was so helpful in many areas connected to the house project but not usually included in an architect's job. For instance she helped us secure permission from the county to move the driveway. Darlene is very responsive to her clients' goals and she is easy to work with.

Working with DARLENE RIEMER was uch a pleasure. She spent countless hours listening to what we wanted and giving us her ideas. DARLENE was able to transform a 25 year old modular house into our lovely new home. The challenge, of course, was how to make this NOT look like a modular . She did it. Our house "works" great. Last summer our house was filled with guest. Everyone wanted to see what had been done. Most had seen the "before" and couldn't believe the "after". What we heard most was "no one would ever know this was an add on." We hear so many positive comments. You cannot go wrong choosing DARLENE RIEMER as your architect. Darlene is easy to work with and will always be there for you.
