Eva aimes to be an architect who offers an open approach and a collaborative process in which she guides her clients through the exploration of their goals, working towards custom-tailored solutions. Eva’s mission is to provide outstanding design and value and to complete every project using the industry’s best practices. Architecture is a language from which stories are woven. Transformative at its core, the art of good design allows for expressions and clues, suggestions and statements to work harmoniously together as the supporting characters in the emerging story of a space. The positive impact of good architecture and creativity is undeniable. From pen and paper to construction and craftsmanship, the plans are brought to life. Eva is at the forefront of implementing green, sustainable considerations and incorporating responsible practices. With a commitment to improving the built environment, she is dedicated to integrity and excellence. Accomplished in both residential and commercial architecture, Eva’s know-how spans from classical to contemporary work, ensuring that each client can see their design dream become a reality. Currently based in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, Eva began her professional life in New York City. She continues to work on projects both in Westchester County and NYC. She also has projects located in upstate New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont. An avid traveler, she spends her vacation time roaming the world with her family, always on the hunt for new inspiration.

Eva is amazing. Our house was a complete gut renovation, essentially a blank slate. Eva came stuffed with so many ideas that never would have occurred to us. She really showed us what our house could become, not just how to work with what was already there. She took the time to really get to know us and what we wanted, and then brought her expertise and creativity to design a plan that far exceeded our expectations. She managed every aspect of our renovation, from start to finish. From initial design, to permitting and selecting a contractor, down to helping us with even the smallest details of the project like selecting cabinet knobs, she was instrumental in everything. She came ready with ideas and held our hand through every aspect of the project from beginning to end. Even today we often reach out with questions and she is always quick to respond with a fix or suggestion. Eva has an unwavering attention to detail. If something is not done correctly she will absolutely notice and insist that it be done again, despite objections. There were often times when, on our own, we likely would have let some imperfections slide, but Eva made sure everything was done perfectly. Eva is a true pleasure to work with - professional, dedicated and hard working til the very end - and her work is beautiful and unique.

Out house came out beautifully! We get compliments from everyone we know; even some people walking by that we don't know! This project involved replacing siding, adding insulation, replacing windows and renovating parts of the first floor. We lucked out in working with this architect. Eva was a tremendous help -- she talked us through the design of the project, put together plans for us to review, and was a constant source of insight. Eva was meticulous in her attention to detail and knew a ton . She was able to talk through our choices in things like siding, windows, and color schemes. She showed us different options and really did an excellent job of turning our ideas into a cohesive design. The result is a space that is a joy to live in.

What vision and creativity and all within my budget. How do you make a New York City apartment look unique? This was our challenge. Eva did an excellent job of creating architectural spaces, accents and adding lighting that is artistic and intriguing. Eva also knows how to work well with clients as well as contractors. The work quality of the contractors was good and any changes to time and budget were understood and reasonable. I would would work with Eva Bouhassira again!

We were so lucky to find Eva for the build out of our home. We were not only impressed with her level of creativity and sophisticated design sense, but also, her ability to "get" what we were looking for and would like, even though we had no idea ourselves. It was quite a massive job which she planned and executed with the greatest competence and diligence. She masterfully managed the town's Planning and Architectural Review Boards, which are known for being very stringent and difficult, and she supervised every aspect of the construction, checking that everything she designed was built to her specifications, to the last detail. We can't stop singing her praises and recommending her to anyone in the area that mentions they want to do work in their home. She's the BEST in the Westchester NY river towns. We hired her again to redo our basement and we will be hiring her when we are ready to redo the kitchen and the bathrooms. Check out her website!

We have used Eva for several renovation projects, including a complete tear down and redo of an apartment on the Upper West Side of NYC (we have worked with Eva on house projects and apartment projects). Eva is extremely thorough, is very good at both structural issues and aesthetic issues and she brings creative ideas for solutions to problems that will inevitably occur in these types of projects. She takes her responsibilities quite seriously and "owns" any project she works on. She is best working on "high end" projects. She has a great eye for detail and anyone who uses her can be confident that the quality of the finished product will be very high.

My husband and I hired Eva Bouhassira for an extensive kitchen/bathroom/laundry room renovation that involved re-framing one side of our house and moving the bathroom to a more appropriate location. Eva is an extraordinary architect. Her plans were creative, and she involved us in every step of the process. She has a terrific eye for all the details (tiles, fixtures, colors, etc.). Eva's plans were precise and led to a very clean bid process where several contractors competed for the work. Because her plans were so clear and she anticipated all the problems that could arise in the course of the gut renovation, there were no material change orders in the course of the work, and no disputes with the contractor. Eva's plans also passed muster with the local building inspector without any fuss. She stopped by frequently to oversee the work throughout the process to keep an eye on the contractor's quality control. We are absolutely thrilled with the end result and have recommended her to all of our local friends and relatives, who are also pleased with the work done on their homes. Eva is a top-notch professional and an amazing person. I give her my very highest recommendation.

Eva redesigned and adapted a brand new prefab house we had built in Vermont. This entailed everything from location, landscaping, construction,interior and exterior design and choosing fixtures. Eva has a great eye for design as well as practicality. She was a tireless advocate for us in negotiating and planning with the builders. She did an enormous amount of research to make this project happen. The process could have been much more difficult as she and we are based in New York., but Eva minimized our stress. She continues to communicate with us and with the builders and landscapers on our behalf. Our new home is better than we had dreamt!

Eva was the architect for our deck - which was a major effort that hangs off the house twenty-five feet up off the ground. While a deck may not seem particularly exciting, Eva did two things that made it special was subtle but very effective. First, rather than a simple rectangle of a deck, she added a set of jags to the perimeter that made it feel like a tree house in the sky. Secondly, she created a railing design that extended the vertical fence supports so that it was not a railing you could sit on - super important given that we had two teenagers in the house and a fall from the deck could easily be fatal. The result was a visually pleasing place we spend a lot of time that is safe and functional.

We used Eva for help in a complete remodeling of our single family home. It was essentially a 'gut-reno' and involved raising the ceilings, putting in an open plan kitchen, remodeling the bathrooms, moving walls and essentially creating a modern open airy feel to an older home. Eva was fantastic throughout the process, not just as the architect but also as someone with a keen design sense. She was very professional, always available, deeply invested in a successful outcome and the end result was a home we are very happy with.
