Frederic believes the way to achieve this is through continuous and active collaboration with his clients. Starting with the client's vision, he works closely on every step to ensure the final product is the best it can be.
Frederic Debackere Design created and launched Espace, an extra space of various sizes for multiple uses: office, artist studio, small house, gym, playroom, extra room, guest house, pool house...Espace is a prefabricated structure, of various sizes and finishes, shipped assembled, and finished on site. It is designed and engineered to perform like a house while it conforms to the principle of sustainability and green building through the choice of recyclable materials and renewable resources.
Frederic also works in collaboration with local Architecture firms on various projects.
After relocating from the city to East Hampton in 2005, Frederic was project manager of the Chanel Store facade at the Americana Mall in Manhasset, NY, and then worked on a modern oceanfront house in Sagaponack, NY for Peter Marino Architects.
While in the process of obtaining a New York license for Architecture, he developed professional expertise by working with leading Architecture firms for high-end residential and commercial projects locally and in the city. His focus on design combined with his excellent technical skills, along with the extensive knowledge of building code and regulations of East Hampton enables him to engage all aspects of a residential and commercial building design.
Frederic Debackere, grew up in the Flemish region of France. He studied first at the School of Applied Art at the age of 17 in Roubaix and continued to the School of Art Decoratives in Strasbourg, France with a Master's degree in both Industrial and Architecture Design. His first work in a design and architecture studio was in the office of the renowned Italian Architect Gaetano Pesce in New York. There he collaborated on innovative Architecture project around the world including the 'Pavilion Gourmand' in Avignon, France and a private residence in Bahia, Brazil.
Later, he was hired by sculptor Dennis Oppenheim to produce 3D modeling/renderings and scale models for site-specific sculptures integrated into urban public spaces. Commissions were awarded for many locations around the globe, as a result, Frederic's work.
