Jie Zhang

Jie Zhang is an architectural designer, researcher, and co-founder and partner of Opt, a design startup. She also contributes to Payette Associates in Boston, MA as an architect, and has previously worked at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, Henning Larsen Architects, Atelier Jean Nouvel, NADAAA, and CNRPD. Besides designing buildings and cities, she has conceived Coca-Cola's activation strategy during its sponsorship of the 2008 Paralympics Games in Beijing, initiated Accra's first youth entrepreneurship awareness program, and mapped Chinese rural renewal with big data. Her independent design work has been awarded widely and exhibited in New Haven, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Medellin, Hong Kong, Shanghai etc., as well as through online platforms such as ArchDaily, FastCompany, Domus, SuperArchitects, DesignBoom, Core77, among others.
