I have worked with, and relied on, Jim Patrick for several years. His decades of experience are a huge asset, from the design of a building to selecting the best materials to service after the sale. Jim's attention to detail and his commitment to customer service make him an interictal part of our team. Regardless of whether it is a new custom home a multifamily building or a commercial structure, Jim is always ready to listen to our needs and offer solutions in a timely manner. Jim Patrick has been a very valuable and competent designer, resource, and advisor to us as we designed and built our new home. From the initial meetings as I was dreaming and scheming the house design , he has worked with me patiently and with kind comments and expertise to guide us toward the home WE desired. He has supported us during the entire building process. I say that because his motto has always been "I am here to give you the home You want". He guided me through many discussions of feasibility versus folly! We had certain non-negotiable features we wanted such as a one story, full basement home but with a design that did NOT look like a ranch style. Jim was able to design it accordingly, including our desired dormers and vaulted ceiling. He satisfied our need for a slightly unusual "footprint" to achieve the orientation we desired, which included some angled rooms and special roof design. One result has been a triangular shaped exterior porch that has become one of our favorite features for enjoying the lovely sunsets! Soon, we will invite JIm to relax with us there as we toast achievement of this goal together. I highly recommend Jim Patrick for his expertise, communication skills, and caring attitude.

Jim has worked very closely with us through the Design and build. He has taken some of the innovative design work from previous homes to ours, had many suggestions and a great deal of support. He has listened to our wants and needs and has helped design a house that will be our home. Jim has also been a strong advocate in helping select our contractors and supported us during the build.

I have had the pleasure to work with Jim Patrick throughout the entire building process. He has excellent insight, knowledge, and experience. He keeps me on target when there are so many decisions to make. I find this especially helpful, when I don't have the expertise to make these many decisions; plumbing, elevations, views, heating, insulation, building styles, ceiling choices coffer or vaulted, trade contrators. I especially have appreciated that he keeps cost in mind at each choice so the bottom line is achievable. He has suggested cost savings that otherwise I would not have even known about. I would highly recommend Jim. He will be a wonderful resource all along the journey. He will be a comforting guide as you are forced to make decisions that may seem "final". We hope to be in our new home until... we go on to heaven. Now you see the pressure we put on Jim!

Jim Patrick helped us coordinate the materials needed for the renovation of our office space. He was very knowledgeable, and extremely accessible throughout the process. Building Materials, Inc. made timely deliveries when applicable, and kept adequate stock of the items expected to be immediately available, keep our contracts working throughout the project. Jim Patrick is very informative. He drew up a house plan for us including everything that we wanted. He is always available to answer questions. He provides us with his opinions when we ask. We changed our mind from siding to brick and from a shingled roof to a metal roof. Jim is working with us to stay within our budget plan. Jim is very knowledgable and has a great attitude.

I worked with Jim and Building Materials while building in Green Oak Developement in Fort Madison, IA. Jim was very easy to work with he spent quite a bit of time finding the perfect floor plan that would fit our budget and our families living space needs. . We were completely new to the building process he helped make some of our decisions and was extrememly kind when we had no idea what the next step was he was there to show us and walk us through this process. We are so pleased with him and his help.

Jim Patrick is extremely knowledgeable in his line of work! He was able to take our vision and put it to fruition by asking questions and suggesting ideas to help make building our home a fun, educated and less stressful experience. Jim went above and beyond in many cases but the one that stands out the most is meeting me on a Sunday to open the store for an item that we had to have or we couldn't progress. Building a new home is stressful and time consuming. When working on plans Jim was great to work with and helped to take away some of our stress. He made sure my husband and my needs were met and would revise plans as necessary. He offered a lot of input and great design ideas. He wouldn't stop until he found a resolution to a change we wanted. Designing our kitchen and bathrooms were fun and easy working with the design teams and having so many options for cabinets finishes, counter tops, sinks, and cabinet design. My kitchen is personalized and perfect for me with a hidden spice rack drawer, a cookie sheet cabinet and a customized bar area. You spend a lot of time with your designers when building a new home, they see the blood sweat and tears that go into your home. It truly was great to work with Jim and the Building Materials team, we will be using them for future projects.

I have been working with Jim Patrick and Building Materials for the last ten years on projects from commercial buildings, multi family projects, to custom built homes. Jim's years of experience in design and determination to build a high quality energy efficient home are second to none. Working with Building Materials show room has a complete line up of quality construction products from siding and roofing products to kitchen cabinets and faucets, this is very beneficial when evaluating different options.

Jim helped me design and put together a new home in 2009 after my current home at the time had burned down. It was a great experience as I built the house entirely myself. He was easy to get ahold of and was always curtious and helpful when i didn't understand how to put parts of the house together. His years of experience helped me in ways I'll always remember. The experience in 2009 has brought me back to him to build another home in 2014. So far the planning stages are going as expected and he is really making it easy designing our new home. He uderstands what we want and knows how to present it to us in a way we can understand. I plan to do a lot of the work on this new home myself again and look forward to challange knowing Jim will be there by my side with advice.
