Mary McKee Design

We worked with Mary on a super fun and creative project in Charlestown, for an equally as cool client. Mary was super responsive when we had questions and was always willing to work with us when it came to design and execution.

I have worked with Mary for over the past 6 years to redesign/renovate our kitchen as well as to put an addition (master suite) over our garage. She is responsive, gets projects (each step) done within the timeframe promised and has a wonderful eye. I am so pleased with the way that both projects have turned out! She has also worked well with our GC's. MAry also helped me to pick tiles, cabinets, colors for the walls, granite, etc. Mary kept me sane thought it all. I was very busy during these renovations and really relied on Mary to facilitate most of it. I would highly recommend Mary for any project.

Mary completed a major project for our family. Mary renovated a home from the 1800's that was beautiful but dark, cramped, had very small windows and a an old fashioned kitchen which was cut off from the rest of the house. The house is right on the Long Island Sound. Without losing any of the historic charm, Mary was able to transform this home into a modern, larger home with beautiful glass doors (in the place of the dark walls) and large windows. She created a modern kitchen that opens up to the dining room and living area, adding to the feeling of space. She took down a garage addition from the 1950's and created more space in the house and a huge master bedroom suite. In addition, she is incredible in picking materials and appliances. She always focuses on quality but fair priced materials (for counter tops, cabinets and tiles etc) and knows instantly which appliances make sense for each part of the house. Mary is always a pleasure to work with. She has a great handle on the construction that needs to be done and manages the contractors with ease. She sticks to her timeline, is thoughtful, caring and takes the extra time to really understand what her clients are looking for. She is also a lovely, smart and positive person. We truly enjoyed our experience with Mary.

I have renovated two late 1800 houses and used Mary McKee for both jobs. She listened carefully to our ideas, added her own expertise and the results are two fantastic open concept houses.
