Tim helped us design our "green" and accessible home. He was open to using no traditional building materials, specifically thermasteel walls and ceiling. He is very flexible and easy to work with.

tim montgomery was recommended to me to provide design services for a passive solar addition to my home; converting an existing screened-in porch into a sunroom after removal of the old deck and screens, the existing roof was saved to reuse; a new insulated foundation and insulated concrete slab was installed; new Pella insulated windows were installed ( to match those on the exist. house) a gas fireplace with stone was installed+ 2 ventable skylights the room has become our "soulspace" as it is filled with daylight year round; it has a beautiful brazilian cherry wood floor I would highly recommend anyone seeking an energy-efficient addition

TMA principal, Timothy Montgomery, Provided architectural services, a competitive builder search and strategic construction oversight for our home design and construction project. His firm was one of the very few in the St Louis metro area with knowledge of and actual experience in green residential home design, materials and construction techniques. The fact that our home reflects both our artistic taste and our desire for energy/resource efficiency (within a restrained budget) is a testament to Mr. Montgomery's skill and state of the art knowledge of his field. He not only met, he far exceeded our expectations in every regard and provided us with design features we had never anticipated. In the summer of 2010 we were ready to start working with an architect to design a custom timberframe home that incorporated several green features and energy saving components. we were living in Maryland at the time but wanted to build the home in Missouri. We found TMA Architects online and contacted Tim Montgomery about setting up a meeting in St Louis. He had extensive experience in timberframe design and had already worked on other green projects. We told him what we wanted and over the course of the next several months, while we searched for a good lot, Tim delivered drawings and plans by email. He even brought along the perfect custom home builder for our project. Tim and Steve Horn, of Mastercraft Design & Build, worked seamlessly to design and build the home we had been dreaming about for 20 years. Tim was creative and knowledgable, timely with his design plans and generous in showing us many examples of designs to consider. There was much back and forth on details and Tim handled our many requests professionally. He was involved in all phases of the finished product from the time excavation began to the day we moved in. Tim Montgomery was a big part of the realization of our dream home. Even though we had previously owned four homes, we had never worked with an architect or custom home builder. Our experience of working with Tim was very positive and we would recommend him to anyone interested in hiring an architect.
