Linda Williams Fine Art

A passion and exuberance for life, nature, music, photography and art is evident in Linda’s work. A dramatic intensity is revealed in her vibrant abstract paintings. This is a new area of passionate exploration. She enjoys the spontaneous approach of impasto painting, manipulating and blending thick layers of paint with her fingers directly on the canvas. Much of Linda’s work, especially her pastels and photographs, is inspired by nature. Her work is very organic and sensuous, appealing to the viewer’s emotional side and beckons for closer inspection. Linda started drawing and painting in oils at a young age. She was awarded an art scholarship to the University of Wisconsin by taking first place in an art competition for a pen and ink drawing. Her art education continued at the American Academy of Art in Chicago as well as various art programs at several local colleges. She received an Associates Degree in Interior Design and and also Commercial Art while working at an ad agency in downtown Chicago. She transferred to the University of Illinois at Chicago receiving a BA in Visual Communication focusing on design and photography. Linda owned a design studio and worked as a designer for many years. Her art and design background meld together to create an art style uniquely her own. Currently, Linda is a member of Oil Painters of America and the Chicago Pastel Painters, as well as the Greater Geneva Arts Guild and Art for All in Elgin. Recently she has taken courses with Albert Handell and Gabor Svagrik. She is featured as an artist on Houzz, the go-to place for interior designers who are looking for that perfect focal point. Her work can also be found in Fine Art America, the premier online art gallery. You can find Linda’s art work in various galleries or exhibits. She has produced personal and corporate commissioned artwork. She currently resides in Hampshire, Illinois.
