Ashley River Lumber Co.

I have been buying boards from this business for nearly 7 years to build and maintain my fence around my property and horse pasture. I have probably purchased 1200 boards from them in that time. However since December 2020 they have doubled the price, will not take a walk in customer any longer, they require a 50% deposit before you can place an order and apparently you cannot refuse any lumber for poor quality. I need 30 or 40 1x6x10-12 boards for maintenance and simply asked that they them not have a knot that went the whole width of the board as they alway break there. Apparently that is too much to ask because I was told that not only do they not have any air dry stock to sell but they cannot cut any green lumber to make my order as they do not have any wood like that. And they are no longer going to stock air dry everything will be green and cut to order - unless of course you ask for no huge knots then they simply cannot help you. Very disappointed. Not a place that a local person can go any more I guess you have to be a large order buyer for them to be interested in keeping your business.
