Collaborative Kitchen & Design Center is one of the best contractors that I have ever dealt with in all of my 30 years of home ownership. John and his staff were extremely professional and knowledgeable and did everything they promised. They were easy to deal with, no nonsense, direct and honest. They consistently exceeded my expectations throughout this process. My renovation was quick, efficient and I was extremely pleased. I would recommend Collaborative Kitchen & Design Center to anyone looking for a high quality contractor.

Can't say enough about Canty Brothers construction. We noticed a significant dip in our 10 X 16 deck and were concerned about it being safe to walk on. Canty Brothers came out within a few days, checked out the deck, and confirmed that it was unsafe. THE NEXT DAY they sent two guys out who took the stairs off, repaired the rotted wood, and put it all back together again. The decking was 11 year old Trex-like material, and they were able to save it all, so and put it back together. Brian and Joe were out there all day in the 90 degree humidity, and just kept working. We supplied cold water and offered to have them eat lunch in our air-conditioned home, but they ate quickly in their truck and got back to work. Never did I imagine the job could be started and finished in one day, nor did we think we could get it done so quickly. High-quality work, workers who communicated well with us and were nice to have around. We'll hire them again.

John Canty and his team guided us in making our dream home a reality. Canty Brothers care about the quality of their work and it shows. Communication was clear and that's not an easy thing to achieve doing an addition during a global pandemic! There was always help if and when the supply chain of goods wasn't available and the design team adapted and adjusted in any way that they could. We didn't take this effort lightly and recognized how committed to our project the whole team was. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Canty Brothers was in charge of the construction of my dance school. They worked very efficiently, meeting all deadlines, and I could not have asked for a better end product. They converted the Watertown Registry of Motor Vehicles into an absolutely stunning, brand new dance school. They constructed four large dance rooms, a large waiting and retail area, four bathrooms, four dressing rooms, a staff break room, an office, and two large storage closets. I highly recommend them for their impeccable work, strong work ethic, and professionalism. Plus, they stayed in touch after the project was done, checked in regularly, and continue to be very responsive to any follow-up questions I have.

I cannot say enough about Canty Brothers. I interviewed 4 contractors to put on a first floor addition with full basement foundation (to extend existing kitchen/dining area), renovate an attic into second story living space by adding a shed dormer and 5 gable dormers, and bring the elecrical/plumbing/heat/air conditioning/insulation - essentially updating everything in the home to bring it up to code for the purpose of renting. The new addition included a complete new kitchen and full bath. The upstairs renovation created two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. I liked John Canty's input into my vision, concern to stay in budget, and most of all his confidence in his team so I hired Canty Brothers. This job was enormous. We encountered many problems .... asbestos in the furnace, the main beam of the home was eaten by termites and needed replacement, the plans my architect drew up needed revising..... just to name a few. We broke ground in November 2018 and it was complete by early August 2019. (most of it was done by the end of May). I absolutely loved John's team (Kevin, Tracy, Adam, Julio and many more - all were professional, kind, responsive, hard working and knowledgeable (in fact I miss them!). If I had a question/concern, I got an immediate response/resolve. John had the lowest bid on the project but he is not cheap. He approached spending my money as he would his own- very wisely and budgeted where he could to save me money on things that mattered to me least. In this business you get what you pay for, and if you want it done right and to your liking, you should definitely hire Canty Brothers. I will never use another contractor. He is simply the best there is out there. I got exactly what I asked for and paid just under half a million (about $80k over budget due to issues not in Canty Brothers control and my expensive taste in all of the masonry used) - but the value created in this investment by having it done right far exceeded the cost. They did an amazing job.

The Canty team was great from initial discovery, design and scoping, to sale/close, the actual work, and post project. The process was transparent and without surprises. Curveballs thrown by our old house or suppliers were dealt with responsively and cost consciously. The project ended up beautifully and beyond our expectations. We have worked with Canty Brothers on several projects and it has been a pleasure each time.

They did what they said they would do and so much more! 1929, about 1,500 sq ft, house; galley kitchen remodel; design to build project Checked out about 15 contractors, whittled it down to meet with 3, and chose CANTY BROS for our complete design to build kitchen project. They had fantastic communication, were professional with expertise, and worked hard with us to keep within our budget while giving us many options during the process. Our Canty team was headed by Jean, Kevin, and Tracey. They built a nice rapport with us patiently & thoroughly answering our questions and addressing our concerns. We always felt comfortable with them at our house. They made sure the work areas were nice and clean at the end of each day. They were great with making sure our dog was safely in her area even when we would forget to close our dog off as we rushed off to work. The end product was truly better than we could have ever thought of. Our space is now a well-spaced, functional galley kitchen that looks picture perfect but also goes seamlessly with the rest of our house. Their attention to detail and enthusiasm for our project lasted from start to finish and beyond. At the final walk through they were looking for any smudges or fingerprints that may have been on the new white cabinets. They let us know to contact them with any concerns as we became accustomed to our new kitchen, and since then they have contacted us to follow up on their work. We couldn’t be happier with our Canty Brothers home! We knew immediately when we saw the house that it was the perfect home for us. It’s a 5 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom colonial built on approximately one-third of an acre lot and everyone who sees it remarks that it is absolutely beautiful! It would be easy to say that the home was an extraordinary value, but that description doesn’t quite do it justice and could give the false impression that the house isn’t top notch. The fact of the matter is that the house could have been priced 15% higher and it would still feel like a steal! It is that amazing! The house is absolutely luxurious - it has huge bedrooms, an oversized kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, a spacious 2-car garage, a large backyard deck, and a farmer’s porch. There are also a ton of subtle touches throughout the home that make it extremely comfortable, like a tankless water heater, slide-out shelves in the pantry and Lazy Susan, a huge master bath with a deep bathtub and a gorgeous glass-enclosed shower, and whisper-silent garage doors. We are extremely proud to own this home! Our satisfaction with Canty Brothers goes beyond the house itself – the support that they have provided after the sale simply blew us away! They were super responsive whenever we had to reach out to them and they were very willing to address issues that we experienced with the house shortly after moving in (just quirky things that typically arise with new builds). While we hope to live in this home for a long time, we would absolutely look to Canty Brothers for a future home.

“We asked a number of contractors to bid on a new basement Bathroom. Four contractors took the time to come by to prepare a bid. Of the 4, only the Canty Brothers team was able to determine the existence and location of an extra vent line that was installed when the house was built. We had a most pleasant experience working with Canty Brothers and their subs: Top-Notch Plumbing & Heating, Pearson Electric Co, and Janusz's Plastering. - John Canty of Canty Brothers was up front with explaining that the design was subject to change depending on the location of the main drain line beneath the concrete floor - The work site was kept clean and, when dust was an issue, sealed off. - Provided their own porta-potty so access to the rest of the house was not required - Allowed us to select our choice of fixtures - The subs were very professional, extremely knowledgeable, quite willing to explain what they were doing and arrived on schedule. - We (homeowner) installed the tile floor and got some very helpful advice regarding materials and techniques from Tracey, the lead on the project - The finished effort exceeded our expectations especially since we planned on a simple suspended ceiling and got a built-in sheet-rocked ceiling instead. - The quality of the work was excellent; the plastering was glass smooth, doors were plumb and true, trim-work mitered accurately, and every plumbing and electrical line was installed neatly and professionally. - Canty Brothers arranged all the licenses and scheduled all city inspections - The only call back was actually due to a fault in our existing heating system; Top-Notch quickly responded with a fix and Canty Brothers was quite willing to bill us at cost. - The project came in on cost with some extras tossed in at no cost. I most heartily endorse Canty Brothers and would absolutely use them again.”

Could not have gone better. All workers were prompt, tidy, professional and personable. The work was completed on schedule (never had this happen before) and was beautifully executed. The creative input of John Canty and his team was exceptional and beyond my expectations! The crowning glory on my property is a clover lawn (John's suggestion) - no maintenance, beautiful, and attractive to bunnies.

They were very prompt with the initial meeting when we were looking at possible contractors; and their suggestions for what work needed to be done based on our criteria were the best of all of the vendors we talked to. They were very busy so the work could not start for nearly 6 weeks; however, once the date of the work approached they were in frequent contact with us letting us know when deliveries would be made, when work would begin and coordinating the efforts of several teams (roofers, their own construction crew and painters). All of the teams were extremely professional and thorough. The entire project was completed in less than 2 weeks - and there were no issues at all. We're extremely happy with the completed project and highly recommend them.

They say putting the words "Contractor" and "Trustworthy" together is an oxymoron. Well, John Canty and his crew proved us wrong. We found Canty Brothers here in Angie's list and a number of other contractors. We met with John and we talked about our plans to buy a fixer-upper. We started by looking at old houses and John was kind enough to come with us to look at a couple of houses. Mind you that we were not under contract at that time and he just went out of his way to make sure that we pick a feasible project. None of the houses made sense to buy and fix so we ended up buying a vacant lot and we built a house from scratch. We did not have a hefty budget but John worked with it to give us the house that we wanted. His budgeting is spot on. We went a little over our budget but that was completely our decision with the upgrades in our selections. If an allowance comes in at a lower cost, they will inform you about it and will use the money in other areas in the house. Whenever we are spending too much money on something or whenever we want something that we can't afford, he will bring us back to our senses. He just wants you to enjoy the house and not be house-poor in the end and we appreciate that very much. My wife and I both work 8-5 shifts so we were not able to come to the site as often as we would like. We will just drop by in the evening to check on the progress when everyone is already gone. We did not have issues with John's crew and the Sub-contractors. We trusted that they will take care of everything and we were not disappointed. I know that Sub-cons can be a pain sometimes but John and Tracy made sure that the kinks were fixed. There was one instance where John did not like how the HVAC unit in the attic was laid out so he asked the sub-cons to redo it and push it further to make the attic more functional. These are things that you won't see or use often but I think attention to those kind of detail tells you what kind of company John runs. Towards the end of the project, we had a huge issue with our sewer. John made a ton of effort driving to meetings and meeting with people in an effort to convince the town to not dig the street. We ended up losing that battle but we appreciate all the effort. You will not get this effort from 95% of the contractors out there. This project was not at all problem-free but we were able to iron out the issues and in the end, both sides were satisfied. It was a very long journey. If we were to do it again, there is no question that we will call John to build our next house. Thank you Canty Brothers for building our beautiful house!.
