I visited the job site in April and was told they were running a month late and wouldn't be ready until June. I told him I would do my best seeing I had other jobs due then.
As far as spending the money:
On February 15 I had a catastrophic flood in my shop where an estimated 25-30 thousand gallons rained from a broken sprinkler pipe. Losing thousands in materials and equipment. I had to use some money to get things up and working while waiting for insurance. The one mistake I made is I told Mr Flanagan I ordered the doors and hadn't. It wasn't because a lack of money just time. I felt bad and learned a tough lesson. To show my forgiveness I finished all of the interior doors in his house for free. $1600 in value.
The job was completed enough for him to rent house out for two weeks in early July. It was dragged out till sept because I had to return several times to adjust dishwasher doors because he couldn't find a person to install it properly. He also made the scope of work larger delaying time adding vanities, shower thresholds and a jacuzzi tub counter top.
No two jobs or clients the same this I have learned. But this job was a nightmare for every person who worked on it. The plumber was fired and a new one hired. Same goes for the mason. The company who acted as the general contractor is half owned by his son and they are being sued by him. As I said in beginning we strive to make every customer happy. I think that was a impossible feat in this case!
