Please read if you are thinking about working with this company to install a shower or other glass enclosure. My wife and I worked with this company to install two glass enclosures for our shower and toilet area. We wanted a totally frameless shower enclosure so before installation Maysam assured us that we could install a large piece of glass, approximately 55 inches by 83 inches at 3/8 inches thick without any support bar being needed. We trusted his advice and guidance, however after the installation was complete, this large piece of glass was unstable and swayed up to ½” in either direction, banging against the adjacent shower door with enough force that the shower basically became unusable due to the danger of the glass shattering. Tempered glass can shatter easily when stressed or if its edge hits against something else. There were also numerous other issues which we made Maysam aware of. After communicating our concerns to Maysam, his response was that we can install a support bar to stabilize the panel which went completely against the look we were going for and was contrary to what he assured us before installation. Feeling disheartened and losing faith in this company’s ability to guide us properly, we decided to meet with other shower glass companies (7 in total) to figure out a solution. It was through these meetings that we learned about some of the other issues. We have since filed a formal complaint with the State Contractor’s License Board for various code violations, safety and workmanship issues, glass fabrication mistakes, and overall carelessness and lack of guidance. Unfortunately, even after admitting that there were fabrication errors, Contra Costa Plate & Mirror did not accept responsibility and agree to fix all the issues to our satisfaction. As a result, we must move forward with another company to undo what this company did and remove the existing glass and refabricate and install the new glass the correct way. This will result in us having to re-do tile work after we spent over a year remodeling our bathroom and will set us back over 6 months from our original completion date. All the while not a single bit of remorse from this company but instead insistence on getting paid above all else. Please be weary if you are planning on using them for anything more than a simple window replacement so you can avoid the same situation as we are being faced with.
