Goffinet Cabinets

I have worked with Gary for a number of years on various creative projects. There is no level of craftsmanship he cannot achieve. He's a master woodworker that's a fading breed. Other cabinet shops have used him on their projects because they can't hire anyone half as skilled. His lathe skills alone are second to none. So to see someone say he's a 1 star rating is a sign of the customer, much more than the carpenter. Gary takes the time to match antique trim styles, finishes and even the wood grains of cabinets 100 years old and beyond. There is no quick formula for craftsmanship. There's a true art to his craft that only someone who sees the value in his details will appreciate. Its sad to see someone be so hurtful and hellbent to discredit him as a professional and human being. If you had a bad experience, sorry to hear. That's no excuse to try and cripple a mans career because they should have shopped at Ikea.

This company is horrible and the only reason I am giving 1 star is because the design was fine. The owner said this project would only take 2 months because it was so small....he kept telling me it was a small project but it took hie 5 1/2 months and we had to come every 2 weeks to keeps him working on it. He made changes to use more plywood instead of wood. The paint job was bad, he didnt match the paint I requested, he didnt make the finish glossy and he didnt put 2 clear coats on. The cabinet has marks on it which I cant get off, parts arent even painted. The doors rattle, the lights dont have all the hardware. He even wanted an advance on the final payment because he didnt have money for the paint....guess thats why there is no clear coats. Then he delivered at 8:00 at night, I think so I couldnt see the paint job...Now he wonders why we dont want him to do our kitchen! Stay away from this cabinetmaker!
