I specifically requested quartzite for my kitchen vs. granite or any other material. I definitely did not want to use quartz, a man made material. The salesperson assured several times that the product I was purchasing was in fact quartzite, a natural stone. I paid more than $3500 for the two slabs of what I fully believed, because I had been told by the expert salesperson at Kapal, that I was paying for quartzite.
The person that installed the new kitchen countertops said that the material I had purchased was NOT quartzite and it was in fact quartz. When I went back to the store to inquire about this the woman at Kapal stated that it in fact was quartzite and why it was located with all other quartzite slabs at Kapal. She indicated that she would contact the supplier and get back to me with certification of my purchase as quartzite.
She emailed back indicating that all at Kapal had been mistaken; I had been told I was purchasing quartzite but was sold two slabs of quartz, a man made material. The woman indicated that she hoped I was happy with my purchase because quartz was very easy to clean.
It is expected that these people are all experts in their line of business, and customers should not be deceived, overly charged and then told to go away and be happy with deception. I do not recommend Kapal.
