We chose Visionary Cabinetworks for our kitchen remodel as they are a local family run operation with reasonably priced custom cabinets. Unfortunately, we were sold a bill of goods. The owner, Steve Pilgram, along with his wife Kristine were very pleasant and likable in their showroom. But once install began, the true colors of their operations began to show. The cabinets were put in crooked, some were at the wrong heights, and there were huge gaps in the crown molding and trim work. One cabinet didn't arrive with glass doors, even though this was specified on the original design. When asked to come out and fix the install job with skilled laborers, we were repeatedly ignored and lied to. Our General Contractor needed to pay his own carpenter to fix as much as he could. Turns out, the island cabinet drawers had even been installed incorrectly as well; they were misaligned, installed upside down, and knocking/banging against each other. The real trouble began only 2 months later when the cabinet paint started chipping! The kicker is that this is our vacation home thus the kitchen had very little use up until this point!! After a few unanswered emails, we finally got Steve, the owner, to pick up our call using a number he did not recognize and all he did was deny everything and deflect the blame repeatedly. Additionally, he said that our warranty was VOID because our general contractor withheld some money because he had to use his own labor to rectify some of the issues. After that, Steve no longer answered our calls nor replied to our multiple emails or texts. We had a few painters come to give us quotes on repainting the cabinets, and they both told us that the reason the cabinets are chipping is because there was no conversion varnish top coat on the kitchen cabinets and the drawers were installed without the correct spacing, thus they're hitting one another! Buyer Beware, Steve Pilgram and his wife will try to charm you in the store, but don't believe the used car salesman pitch they will try to sell you about their quality craftsmanship and ten year warranty that only a family company can provide. It's all a line of BS as their products and craftsmanship is sub-par and their customer service and warranty are nonexistent. Steve and Kristine sure can tell a lie, but photos don't. Please have a look; we can only post 4 photos but you can contact me for more.
