Danial Carrell was the original founder of a cleaning business in 1893 located on Market St. in downtown Louisville. In 1894 Danial Carrell partnered with Mr. Rogers and so began Carrell Rogers. In 1920 Carrell Rogers moved to Clay St. and added a window shade business as well as cleaning wall paper, which was in high demand from 1920 till 1945 due to coal furnaces. In 1923, Mr. Rogers departed for Florida and Danial Carrell ventured into the carpet business. At this time carpet came in 27 inch pieces and had to be sewn together to create carpet and area rugs. In 1941, Carrell Rogers unionized and from 1941 thru 1945 began making saddle pads for the horses the Army used in WWI and WWII. Then, in 1960 they began a whole new adventure, as Danial Carrell turned Carrell Rogers into a flooring store that offered all flooring surfaces. They successfully continued this model and eventually sold the store to Lee Hammer in 1986 and they continued offering all flooring surfaces and window coverings. Next, in 1998, the current store owners, Ken and Nancy Martin purchased the oldest flooring store in Louisville and almost immediately opened a new store location at its current residence 109 S. Hurstbourne Pkwy. That same year Ken and Nancy also purchased Sharp Flooring Galleries located at 4214 N. Preston in Shepherdsville. Finally, in 2006, both locations became members of Carpet One the largest flooring organization in North America. This alliance enables Carrell Rogers Carpet One the ability to provide local service with national buying power. This great pairing is a benefit to all consumers as they get great service, unbelievable value, with expertise inferior to none. Now that you know so much about us here at Carrell Rogers Carpet One, stop by, introduce yourselves, and let us help you find those new floors that compliment your home.

After deciding to carpet the basement in the house we had recently purchased, Ken McDonald came to our house and measured and gave us an estimate which was very reasonable. We ordered the carpet and scheduled installation. Before the installation date we discovered we were having water problems in the basement. We postponed the installation to allow the waterproofing company to come and do repairs. We also installed new gutters on the house, but the water leaks continued. I did not want to install the carpet with existing water leaks so called the store to explain the postponements and our situation. I spoke with the owner, Ken who graciously agreed to let me cancel the order and installation and issue a complete refund. Unbelievable customer service! I will definitely deal with the company again!

We met with a gentleman/salesperson to give us a quote on tile, hardwood flooring and carpet and we found him very knowledgeable and helpful. Actually after talking with him about colors and our style he was quick to come up with suggestions that we fell in love with. He also offered suggestions on paint colors without being pushy.

He has been in the business for 30 years and was very knowledgable. They have a great range of products to choose from in everyone's budget.
