Moomjy Carpet & Floor

The Moomjy family has been in the flooring business for 3 generations, beginning with the Middle East Rug Corporation in Turkey in 1915. Their American franchise, as we now know it, originated in 1955 with Albert Moomjy and Ted Einstein collaborating to begin the Einstein Moomjy trademark. This venture began with their first store located in Bloomfield, NJ. Soon after, Walter Moomjy and Ernst Einstein also joined the business. As Einstein Moomjy continued to flourish they then expanded to four stores in NJ and one in Manhattan, NY. The current owner, Robert Moomjy is the third generation in this local, family-owned business. Robert began his involvement in the floor coverings industry in 1978, and has cultivated this passion over the years. Branching off to create his own brand identity, Robert renamed his storefront to R. Moomjy’s Floorsmart in 2005. In the summer of 2016, R.Moomjy’s Floorsmart relocated from Livingston, New Jersey to 325 Route 10 East, in East Hanover New Jersey, operating under the name Moomjy Carpet & Floor. Robert continues to uphold his family’s legacy for providing exceptional customer service as Moomjy Carpet & Floor.
