About Us

California Closets North Jersey, currently owned by Julie (Ginsberg) LaFranco and her husband, Bob LaFranco, has been a successfully-run family business since 1984. Originally founded by Julie’s parents, Marty & Ruthie Ginsberg, the northern New Jersey location continues to bring life-changing organization to its community and surrounding cities. Throughout the years, other family members have joined their team, including Shellie (Ginsberg) Topper – senior design consultant, and David Ginsberg – installation manager, making the northern New Jersey location a true family affair. Our Fairfield facility includes a design center that offers you the opportunity to experience our products first-hand, with over 15 displays. We understand your need to "try before you buy," and we encourage you to visit, take a look around and let us help you discover your unique design solution. Our facility also has a modern, organized shop where we manufacture each system using the latest computerized machinery and technology. We also have a retail showroom located in Bernardsville, NJ.

California Closets in Fairfield has provided top-notch service and product for over 30 years. I actually moved my closets from my NJ home to DC, then to CO and they eventually ended up in our NM house and they still look fabulous and are so functional! The Ginsberg Family is iconic in New Jersey, and they are the ORIGINAL Home Edit! I still use all of the organizing tricks and tips I learned from the experience years ago. Thank you for everything!!! ♥

Linda McHale and the California Closet team were phenomenal to work with. They are timely, organized, creative and incredibly patient. My husband and I have late work hours and Linda stayed late on multiple occasions to ensure our closet was designed exactly to fit our needs. The organization overall is taking all the necessary COVID precautions, and even with the pandemic they were accommodating with the install date. I cannot recommend this company and Linda enough. Mike and Tim did a flawless job with the install and were very respectful of our home. Do yourself a favor and go build your dream closet!

Everything was PERFECT from beginning to end. Allison was a dream to work with. She was thoughtful, creative and efficient. She was not at all "sales-y" and never pressured me. Melissa was friendly and prompt with her contacting and information. Charles was curteous and meticulous. Sean was very pleasant, skilled and professional. Even though we had the world's strangest issue (no fault of CC at all) after installation, it has already been resolved and we have only had our closet for 3 days!! Horrible customer service. There were several problems with the closets after the installation, and getting them fixed has been extremely difficult and time consuming. The service department has a habit of ignoring phone messages and e-mails, taking long periods of time to get service visits scheduled, and not following up or through. It's been two years since the closet installation and the company still hasn't gotten everything sorted out. Very aggravating.
