We subcontracted this company back in 2013 to install a granite countertop for one of our customers. They chipped a corner of the counter upon installation. The customer pointed it out to them. They made an attempt to patch it. A year later it fell off. They made another attempt to patch it. Another year later it came off again. This time they told us (Backyard Concepts) that we would have to pay $150 for them to go out and fix it because the warranty had expired, even though they were the ones who chipped it! And when we pressed the issue that they should fix what they broke, we were told by Jeff, the installation manager, that he is finished talking about this and hung up on us. They should have replaced the countertop when they chipped it upon installation. They didn't handle this professionally at all. I would not recommend them.

I would never recommend this company. During their installation they do not give you a time window of their arrival which is frustrating & rare. You have no clue when they are going to show up. During the first installation of our granite they broke a big piece so they were unable to finish. When they returned 2 days later to install the new cut piece it was a different color from the original. I should mention I directly asked the person in charge if the new piece would match the rest and I was assured it would. The person in charge went on to explain how very common it for granite to break during an install & acted as if it was no big deal. They took a piece of our countertop back with them to their office but didn't check to see if it matched the new piece. They also dented the brand new stainless steel sink during the install as well as scratched our kitchen cabinet. The management never called to assure us it would be taken care of & instead he had the installers tell is what he said as a third party which is just rude! This is the most unprofessional company we have ever used. I would never use them again or recommend their company! I would think if a company messed up the first time they would try very hard to fix the second time but that was not that case with our experience. Who knows how long we will be without a kitchen. I'd hate for this to happen to anyone else.

We remodeled two bathrooms and used Empire both times for our granite countertops. My only complaint was that the showroom was not always manned, so you had to make an appointment to get any information. Since we did each bathroom at separate times a few weeks apart, we experienced this situation both times. Once the countertops were ordered, they were delivered and installed in a timely manner and look great. I did have to call them back each time to polish some small flaws and rather than going through the sales person, I called the production shop directly and scheduled the repairs. I am well pleased with the results.

I bought a new home, construction almost complete, and Empire was able to come in and install granite countertops in place of those the builder had chosen in a very quick time frame. I absolutely love them! I have had them for over 5 years and they still look as new as the day they were installed. Wonderful granite with great movement and professional, quick installation.
