Behr Custom Closets

WARNING!!!!!! We hired Michael Behr to make closet organizers for our home as a referral from our decorator who we trusted. We gave him a 50% deposit and trusted that he would start and finish this job as per our agreement. He communicated that everything would be ready in 4 weeks and we believed this to be true. We gave him a 50% deposit in June and he did not come with any materials until August. Michael’s working day was approx from 11AM-2PM. The first day he came to work in August he delivered the raw materials and his working day was over. At this time he asked for additional payment. Michael, why did you ask for additional payment when the agreement provided by you/your company stated 50% deposit and the rest upon completion? We were under the impression he came with all the materials. The second day he came back at 11AM and at 11:45AM I found him eating in my closet. At 2PM his working day was over. In 2 weeks he managed to install some organizers but continued to leave the job incomplete. It is December and we still do not have drawers. From August to December he has been telling a variety of stories as to why he hasn’t come and when we can expect him. He would provide a day when we can expect him and never bothered to come or advise us that he needed to reschedule or that he was not coming. This type of behavior went on for months and it is incomprehensible to me how someone who acts as such can ever be trusted. It is understandable that things come up and happen unexpectedly but his lack of professionalism and human decency has become very apparent and for this reason I would never trust him or recommend his work to anyone. Michael we have given you many chances to make things right. Please provide a resolution to this matter in the form of a refund or completion of work as stated in the agreement.
