Porch Enclosure Systems

I just installed Porch Enclosure Systems (PES) roll-up curtains and to say I am thrilled with the results is an understatement. The curtains are extremely attractive with crystal clear windows and are exceptionally well made. I expect them to last for years and years; well worth the investment. They not only stop the cold winter wind, but along with the skylights I have, the average temperature of my patio is now 10-15 degrees warmer than outside during the day, making it very comfortable to enjoy the “outside” space in winter. With this single addition to my patio, it honestly feels like I have added an extension to my home. Everyone I worked with at PES was professional, helpful and friendly, not to mention very patient with my many questions. I couldn’t be more pleased.

This has to be among the most difficult companies I have ever worked with. I have been trying to get information about attachment points for the curtains so I can direct my contractor to make create an appropriate structure. I can't seem to get that from the project manager, who refuses to send any schematics and seems to have some weird sort of personal issue. I have no idea. Today he got into how if we did it one way (shown on their website) it would not be warranted, I asked about another way shown on their website and was referred to a very dense warranty document. There are so many red flags here, it is clear that there is no way I want to work with Porch Enclosure Systems under any circumstances. There is no assistance with a designing an appropriate solution, there is virtually no assistance with information about what the physical needs are to make the system work, it is a process of asking questions to try to get information that feels like they really don't want to provide any information (and certainly not anything written... like schematics) so that you are flying blind on attachment points or any needs, getting the limited information I have gotten has required playing 20 questions (which clearly irritated the project manager). The overall sense is that they really are not interested in doing anything to assist in even understanding their product and how it fits. Basically, at the end of the day, even if one gets through the rather schizophrenic process of even trying to work with this company, you are going to get a product for which if there are any questions during installation, they are not going to work with you to resolve them. I have no idea how they sell anything.

I cannot recommend this product. I have have a PES for several years. Part of my decision to go with PES of Stevensville, MD was their commitment to customer service. For the past 3 years, their customer service has been horrible. I now have unattractive, stained canvas that "they had committed to cleaning." In addition, they no longer offer services to install/remove/store the enclosures ... which had been a big selling point for such an expensive investment! Their excuse for lack of customer support was, "We are just too busy installing this year." Buyer beware.

We cannot recommend this company because of customer service issues. I will say the Porch Enclosure System is a very good system. Our install was at our second home in Delaware. It was for two porches and involved sixteen separate porch covers/curtains. The install of our system was over two days in mid-March. PES indicated that we should call them if we had any trouble opening the cottage for the summer season. We did have issues when we opened our home for the summer season in June. We immediately sent PES an email and photos. They responded that they would discuss and get back to us. Subsequently we never heard back from them despite several attempts to contact them. Ultimately, we gave up and are making due with the issues. Our rating is reflective of their customer service.

Porch Enclosure Systems exceeded my high expectations! I was initially skeptical about their product being over 1000 miles away and learning about PES online. We installed our custom measured/designed, interior mount curtains ourselves in about an hour, and I am not handy...following the detailed instructions with the high quality hardware included with our system. We are in Minnesota and wanted to enclose our new three season porch...to see if the PES system would allow us to enjoy our wood fireplace during harsh Minnesota winters...YES...the system protects from snow, wind and holds the heat from the fireplace remarkably well. This has allowed us to have the benefits of a four season porch for a fraction of the cost. Nothing better than watching sports on the outdoor TV, with a roaring fire with a blanket when it is 10 below zero! PES was collaborative in the design process and asked the right questions leading up to fabrication. The production and shipment were right on schedule. The entire team, Matt, Cory, Mike and Amanda were professional and kept me informed from start to finish. Well done PES, keep up the great work...thank you!

Couldn't be happier with my purchase! I ordered these curtains to enclose my screened in porch for use year round. They arrived ahead of schedule and the quality is exactly what I hoped for. The installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. I installed with a friend in a few hours and am very happy with the results. My once windy and cold porch now holds heat and adds another living area to our home all year.

Installation was reasonable and quicker than I anticipated. The porch and its furniture were dry after several severe thunderstorms and winds high enough to take down several trees. The enclosure definitely extended the season for using the porch. Update: After three years, two tropical storms, countless nor’easters and three cold northern NH winters…. the curtains have held up very well and look good.

We absolutely love our new porch enclosure system! This has already extended the use of our "outdoor room". We were really pleased with the level of professionalism in communication, design and install from PES. We would highly recommend this company to anyone interested in utilizing outdoor living space all year round.
