Fred did a fantastic job with our addition/remodel. We absolutely love our house, thanks to Fred's work, and we are especially reminded of how great a job he did when people come over for the first time sinned we started the remodel. First, they compliment the craftsmanship, by pointing out the quality and attention to detail. Then, they compliment Fred's design by noting how our house feels so much more spacious than expected, especially given that (although we remodeled a large portion of the house) we only added on a little under 200 square feet. Then they compliment the finishings, by saying how much they love the colors and countertops he and his collaborators helped us choose. In addition, Fred and his crew were very considerate, hard-working, and timely. We are very grateful, and would definitely recommend Fred and his crew.

We employed Brecht Construction for a major remodel of the kitchen/dinette/laundry area of our home. The job involved removal of two interior load-bearing walls, re-partitioning to provide a larger all-new kitchen with new windows and skylight treatment, as well as a new half bath, with separate pantry and laundry room. The project included design/layout, engineering, permit approval, demolition, structural upgrades, rough framing, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, finish work and painting. From the start Fred Brecht put a lot of effort into understanding exactly what we wanted and incorporating our wants in his plan and estimate for the project. Of the several contractors we spoke with, none developed as good an understanding of our project and none provided as detailed an estimate of the scope of work and costs as Fred. This was a key factor in our decision to use Brecht Construction for the project. Fred's experience and design skills were a great help to us in the design phase of the project. Fred's done many remodel projects and was able to provide excellent guidance particularly in the critical layout of the kitchen. Throughout the project his emphasis was always on giving us, the customers, what we wanted. At many points where tough decisions had to be made Fred's sole focus was to understand what we wanted and then to find a way to make it happen. Fred is committed to doing things right. We quickly came to understand that whenever we raised a concern a change would be initiated or Fred would give us a good explanation for the way things were being done. He was always reachable, good about returning phone calls and patient in answering our many questions. Fred's own workers are experienced and skilled, able to handle many tasks normally done by subcontractors. We particularly appreciated the quality of their finish work and their emphasis on keeping the workplace clean. The subcontractors Fred employed were knowledgeable and did quality work. We were particularly impressed with the work done by his stucco and concrete subcontractors. We've received numerous compliments on the results of our remodel project, particularly on Fred's design for the skylight opening in the kitchen ceiling. We have several more remodel projects we want to undertake. Our first call will be to Brecht Construction.

I would recommend Brecht Construction without any hesitation! When my last contractor left me in the lurch, Fred and his team came in and completed the job to perfection. Fred brought in superb designer Gail Beasley to ensure that every design detail was considered. They are a conscientious, detail-oriented and highly skilled company. I will definitely use Brecht Construction on future projects.

I used Brecht Contsruction to redo my kitchen, bathrooms, living room and our outside deck. As a Design/Builder, Fred was able to design a kitchen for me that is not only beautiful but functional. The Master bathroom he designed is fabulous and exceeded my expectations. Fred was able to design and complete my renovation within my budget and on time!! Fred and his crew were always professional, skilled, punctual and a pleasure to work with on my project. Their attention to detail was great and it showed that they genuinely cared about their work. Brecht Construction was awesome! I had reached out to Fred on a recommendation after I grew tired and weary of my old contractor's antics. Fred and his team handled everything from my asbestos issues to woodwork, plumbing, and electrical with quality service and expertise. I appreciated him taking the time in helping me to understand the process from step one. Most of all, I felt he extended exceptional value and communication the whole way though. He was available every time I called him and addressed each question that came up. Most of all, I was appreciative of the relationship he was able to build with the City inspector to keep my delays non-existent.
