Kari and Courtney did an amazing job sprucing up our family lake home. They transformed it to be updated, bright, and timeless. They honored our story by integrating the old with the new. They listened to our ideas but (gently) encouraged us to move outside our comfort zone. The result is a beautiful space that still feels like home. The subcontractors are top notch. Their relationships are clearly of mutual respect resulting in high quality workmanship. The project was floor to ceiling interior updates, a few moves on the interior walls, new windows, and exterior improvements. Kari and Courtney made sure this entire 5 month project ran smoothly and per our agreed upon plans. We have only a few outside details to wrap up once the warmer days of spring come back to Minnesota. We cannot say enough good words about this duo. They are off to a great start in continuing the McCarten Design reputation.

My project was a major remodel of an existing house. Toni McCarten and her entire team were amazing in developing the project plan, managing the plan, executing it and all the while providing outstanding follow-up and exemplary customer service. What could have been a stressful time was not. In fact it was enjoyable with a lot of chuckles along the way. Toni kept me up to date weekly if not more often. She heard absolutely every word I said about what was important to me in my home. This included the tangible as well as the intangible. Toni told me it would take 4 months and it took 4 months and 10 days. The added 10 days were because we/I made a late decision to add to the project. There was no detail too small to care about! Toni was always mindful of my budget and kept me informed/involved along the way. I was welcomed anytime I came over to my home while they were mid project. All of the contractors were outstanding and welcoming. The quality of their work was impeccable. It was clear to me that they really liked working with the entire McCarten Design Team. I definitely understand why. Toni and her whole team are so talented in terms of creativity, customer service, project management and top level design expertise. I recommend them wholeheartedly for any project large or small. They did a phenomenal job on my home and, from the moment I moved home, it felt like home! I would like to compliment the entire team on the highest quality of workmanship involved in this project. Absolutely outstanding!

Toni McCarten did an amazing job modernizing and preserving the integrity of our 1920 family cottage, built by my grandfather. She reconfigured the five small bedroom, one bathroom house into a fabulous four bedroom, two bathroom beautiful cottage that far surpassed my expectations. Her creativity and design has made our summer home a place of comfort and joy. I would definitely recommend McCarten Design. I could not have done this project without Toni McCarten.

Toni McCarten and her team are amazing, creative and extremely professional! We've worked with McCarten Design for two different projects and have been "over-the-top" excited to live in the homes they have redesigned for us. The 1st project was a complete reconstruction of an outdated condominium for which she transformed the main floor kitchen, dining room and living room into one beautiful, spacious, open and cozy room that we were excited to welcome guests for cocktails, dinner and intimate evening parties. The 2nd project was an entry and living room reconstruction where Toni and her team transformed an odd entry with no view of the lake upon entering the house, to a spectacular "WOW" view of beautiful Lake Carlos!
