Tony Jones

Had an initial consultation for approximately two hours in our home with one of the co-owners. We discussed a myriad of renovation options, timelines and sequencing. We advised that we were in the information gathering stage and really wanted to get a ball park estimate of cost. We projected a budget of 150k based on our own unrefined research. Our stated objective was to determine how close we were for planning purposes. The meeting went well and we anticipated a preliminary estimate back in 7 days or so. Approximately 2 weeks later I received the following: "I have spoken with several of my trade partners regarding your project and I don't feel that I can be competitive in the projected budget for your project." I understood the intent behind the communication, but wanted clarification on the ambiguous specifics. I immediately (within 30 minutes of the email) requested clarification as to what degree, percentage or amount impacted his decision. No response. I understand this is the busy season, but the lack of follow-up and professionalism associated with this company was at best - disappointing! Best of luck.

As the owner of the company, I reached out to Mr. Jones with the hopes of discussing the situation he described in his post. Unfortunately he was not comfortable discussing the experience with me. That said, his wife was gracious enough to return my call.

While we never like to turn opportunities away, we believe it is in our customers best interest to do so when the work they want us to perform is not within our core area of expertise. I conveyed that to Mrs. Jones and apologized for the misunderstanding.

Unfortunately, with all the technology available to us, we forget to pick up the phone and communicate. We have used this situation to remind us that no touch is better than the personal touch and we apologize for not putting our best foot forward with the Jones family.

We will continue to strive to earn accolades from our clients by doing the very best job possible now and in the future.

Marty and his team are an Excellent Remodeler client to work with. They are very demanding in quality and scheduling in the interest of their clients . We have supplied Granite-O-Quartz countertops on their various projects including this one.Communication is always clear and precise and expectations very well defined. We appreciate their regular patronage!

Basement edge for amazing from start to finish, they worked with us on several design options prior to contract signing to make sure we were 100% satisfied and within our budget. We had a time crunch due to the holidays and they worked with us keeping us up to date and on track. The work team were amazing - the people were pleasant and the workmanship outstanding!

Marty and her team were a DREAM to work with. They hit all their deadlines, communicated constantly so we knew what to expect, and the appraisal we received was “higher value finish” compared to the market. All this and $15-20k below the other three we had quote the project. Hit it out of the park from a design standpoint as well. AND- they stand by their work and their clients. We have since had an unrelated issue cause damage to the space and she’s scheduling repairs because she’s just that awesome.

Amazing experience. Marty's designs and follow-through are top-notch. The work was started on time and finished on time, even though we threw a few extras in here and there. I love the finished product--the built-in bookcases are stunning--and the thought and care that was put in to this basement is very apparent. We refer to it as the "lower living area" because it truly is a part of our every day living as opposed to that place where the exercise equipment is gathering dust. Thank you, Marty and crew!

Finishing a basement is a big project that most people have apprehension about, including us. We received and met with several contractors and immediately felt comfortable after meeting with The Basement Edge and knew they were a good match for what we expected from a contractor. Seeing their experience, quality of work and and feedback from other customers made the decision to use them an easy one. Not only did they help us design our basement, they went step by step what we could expect over the next several months during construction. From the first day they started Basement Edge kept us informed about next steps and if we had any questions/concerns about something they were always a quick phone call away or would meet us in person. Inevitably there will be some challenges with such a large project but never did we feel out of touch or uninformed. We could not be more pleased with the end result and our family enjoys our new basement everyday. Overall they did an excellent job and I would highly recommend Basement Edge to anyone looking to improve their home and want piece of mind knowing it will be done right the first time!

We have hired Basement Edge to create from start to finish our basement. They helped us design the space to meet our need and brought the necessary specialty contractors we needed. We wanted a space for entertainment, with Bar area, pool table, and home Theater. Basement Edge introduced us to a great A/V company that help us with designing and installing our dream home Theater. We spent the right amount of time before the project to review every details and created a precise budget and schedule. When the work started it was quick and the project was almost finished on time. We had some sub contractors that didn't deliver what was asked and Basement Edge was on top of them to make sure the job got done right. We were able to make some changes as we went which increased the cost and the timeline a bit but those were requested by us. At the end Basement Edge delivered a wonderful space meeting time line and budget. We could not be happier.

We could not be happier with the experience we had working with Basement Edge and the end result of our beautiful basement! It turned out exactly how we envisioned! From the very beginning, Marty and Brian really invested the time to get to know us and to truly understand what we were looking for, even though we didn't quite know ourselves. We leaned on them for recommendations on all the design elements, based on our taste of course, and they nailed it! They took their time with the details, walked us through everything and got it all right. We really appreciated that there were never any surprises...Their team was responsive, professional and most of all, so much fun to work with. You know your experience was a good one when the first people you want to have over in your brand new bar are the people who built it. This is THE company to finish your basement or for any home remodeling projects - we would, without hesitation, recommend them to anyone who will listen!! We absolutely LOVE our new space. Commented: Shelf depthShelves in bookcase doors average 8-10 inches. Any They are not designed to carry weight, more for light weight decorative items.
