Logistics Nightmare!
My sofa sold very quickly to a buyer outside of the local NYC service area. The national "white glove carrier" was a guy in a truck who seems to be driving all over the country with no office backup or logistics support. He has rescheduled pick up 4 times (via text) in the past three weeks. Now I am learning that he has canceled the pickup altogether and AptDeco is starting all over again finding a new shipper.
The most frustrating aspect is the lack of accountability on AptDeco's part. They are impossible to reach (you can only email) and it is a different customer service person every time.
If you have a tight timeframe I do not recommend AptDeco. And absolutely do not buy/sell to anyone outside of your local metro area!

Total fraud. Ordered bookshelves to be delivered. They were never delivered, no one ever reached out to schedule delivery, and the website lists but does not provide contact information for the "shipper" - a dude. The company website says that I received my item, which is false and fraudulent. DO NOT USE.

While I used AptDeco ("AD") a couple of times in the past with positive results, my last experience was highly disturbing, to say the least. It was upsetting and disappointing enough for me to proactively warn others of their subpar customer service & corporate management teams, and enough for me to contact one of their board members in an attempt to flag my concern surrounding the manner in which the broader AD team manage grave customer issues and emergencies - ignore the matter and hopefully the issue will subside.
In short, I posted and quickly sold two beautiful marble dining tables on AD. After the pick-up team missed the 3-7pm pick-up window on a Saturday afternoon, a team of two finally showed up at my apartment after 10pm that night. They showed up in an unmarked white vehicle (not the advertised orange AD van) and while one of the delivery individuals was an AD employee wearing the AD orange shirt, the other individual was not, however accompanied the other as a helping friend. When I asked about this, they declined to provide the name of the helping friend and assured me it wasn't anything to be concerned with. This was the first red flag and set the tone for the remainder of the night.
The AD experience resulted in 2 damaged, non-sellable marble tables, a large contingent of police officers called by my neighbours due to the chaos and noise created by the shattering tables, an injury sustained by the friend of the AD employee as a result of a dropped table, and ultimately, a non-responsive AD Customer Service and management team.
Multiple emails and calls (I tried their corporate offices given they do not provide a customer service #) were extended the night of the event and for several days after. One Customer Service individual acknowledged my urgent query the day after the event however I experienced deafening silence by AD's Customer Service team & co-founders in the days after. I went as far as emailing the co-founders directly, the broader AD team and one of the board members begging that they please acknowledge my concerns.
While their board member had the professionalism and decency to acknowledge my query and offer to look into it, the co-founders and Customer Service team hid behind the issue and never attempted to even acknowledge the atrocity they were accountable for and proactively ignoring. Their answer was to ignore the issue, hope the noise goes away and simply deposit a small sum of money in my bank account to partially cover the cost of the broken tables.
Given AD was co-founded by an individual who was inspired to start the company on the back of a terrible experience with a similar company, I thought they would have acknowledged my request and addressed it in a more proactive manner. Instead, there was no acknowledgement, no discussion, no professionalism, no human empathy.
I cannot in good conscience recommend AD to anyone, however will give them one star for sustainability impact.

Issue number one is that I felt misled on fees (essentially netted nothing). Number two: every single message through the site was spam. Numerous complaints didn't stop it. But the biggest issue is that I waited during their four-hour period and nobody showed. No text. No call. No message about delays. And when they reached out to the customer to tell them that the delivery wasn't happening, they essentially blamed the problems on the seller (a.k.a. me). This is a site that sends plenty of warnings that you'll be penalized if you're not home during the window for pickup, but they do nothing to compensate you when the blame is on their end. I would rather toss my stuff on the street than use this site again.

Used aptdeco as a seller. Beware, they overcharge for delivery! They categorize without looking at the actual measurements of pieces. And when you contact them, (fyi you'll never be able to speak to anyone), by email you'll have a different person reply with a different answer and when they say they'll get back to you tomorrow, doesn't happen. Will not use again.

***Updated***
I had some issues with a delivery / processing a return where the item I received was defective, AptDeco ultimately resolved the issue in good faith.

I started using AptDeco in 2015 and it has been a great resource for my company on both the buying and selling side. As a designer and professional organizer, I am able to use the service to help sell furniture that my clients no longer want or use. Plus, I'm able to then use the service to help locate reasonably priced options for projects. One of the things that I have found particularly helpful when selling with them is that there are no visitors coming to my clients' apartments to "shop" an item. I am able to take the photos, fill out the listing and then schedule pickup once it's sold. I've found it to be a very easy experience so far.

As an interior designer in NYC, AptDeco is one of my go to resources for fantastic furnishings at great prices. They have a wide range of inventory from current retail pieces to vintage items and art. The flat fee shipping is great, plus they now offer assembly too! Recently I was even able to help two of my clients sell some of their furnishings that were no longer in use. Overall a great resource and very easy to work with!

Terrible delivery experience. The delivery window was booked, and then confirmed, and then someone from AptDeco got in touch 10 mins before the window ended to say the delivery couldn't be made within the scheduled time. A ruined day at work, and evening.
There is no way of contacting the delivery company. There is also no way of contacting AptDeco outside of their office hours except for by email. Cue an endless series of emails which only add to the frustration.
This company should really warn it's customers that whilst it sells furniture cheaper than via competitors, the delivery experience is even worse, and is enough to make you look elsewhere.

Nice couch, terrible delivery experience. Their team could not get the couch in. After they gave up, our super helped us lift it in, easily. Took 4 emails over 2 days to resolve a delivery charge refund with customer service. Way too much work on my part. I would advise booking your own delivery team.

BEWARE-The items on the APTDeco website may or may not be what you receive. The brand of couch I bought was not the brand listed on the website, the picture of the couch in the ad was Photoshopped, and there were other major differences between the ad and the actual couch. In fact, I found the same couch advertised by APTDeco with a different description on other websites. Because they use an independent mover, I had no recourse upon delivery. APTDeco refuses to take it back and I have to dispute the charge with Visa. This thing is sitting in my apartment until the issue is resolved and it smells like smoke (ad says it is from a smoke-free apartment) and I have two small children. BUYER BEWARE.
