Cyma Furniture Design

Cyma Furniture Design is a one-man studio owned and operated by me, Scott Sober. I received my degree in Furniture Design in 1991 from “The School for American Craftsman” at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. My goal from the start has been to build furniture of heirloom quality to meet all of my clients needs. My furniture is built to last. I design furniture “with” my clients to assure they are getting exactly what they want. I may take details from other pieces in the room and incorporate them into the piece. If someone wants a totally different piece, I can do that also. I work primarily with domestic hardwoods and veneers like Maple, Ash, Cherry, Walnut, and Oak. If a client request an exotic or unusual species, I do my best to accommodate them. I choose materials based on what would be most appropriate to the piece i.e. all solid wood construction or a mix of solid and veneer.
