Design Within Reach - Berkeley

Case# 04713813, Order: S03227724, Customer: Design Within Reach, Inc. On 2/20 when visiting my friend in San Francisco CA, I stopped by the store DWR at Berkley. I am very familiar with the style of the store I have purchase a bed and a desk chair I love much. I wanted to buy the back for the full min bed I purchase about 7-8 years ago. I notice that the back cost was doubled of the actual bed when I purchased it then. I agreed then to buy a new bed King size and also get the back of my existing Min Bed. Bianca was out customer rep. She was great on guiding me on the color of the bed. She also added 10% for the new mover discount. I ask if any other promotions or discounts were available and she mentioned that I could hold of until March the Semi Annual will have an additional 15%. I stated that I will get the bed now and since Im getting the bed delivery in March perhaps I get the 15% then. She concurred. When I got home I waited for the Semi annual began to go over the billing and when the Semiannual sale started. I emailed the customer service and their response was that they don’t add additional discounts so instead of keeping the 10% and adding the 15% the only added 5%. I emailed Bianca and she apologized for misunderstanding and the she tried to get the approval from the store manager and the manager declined to approve what I was under the impression the plan for this sale. I am really disgusted with the way DSW handle this transaction. I kept the product because I really wanted to make my family happy… I may not be their number one customer but definitely I am not longer be a customer of you again…. Continuation of this order journey… It gets better I went back with the original email of the DWR customer service rep and stated that they do not stack discounts so she will honored instead 5% to match the 15% since the original sales associate already offer a 10% for new mover discount. When I looked the total she quoted of the 5% was $161.66… I said wait a minute… they took 5% after the 10% that means they stack the discount for their favor… the actual amount of the order was $3590 therefore 5% is 179.5. The customer service rep was giving me a 5% from 3231 which is the original price with 10% (again I was under the impression that 10 and then another 15 will be approve) Unbelievable!!

Amazing showroom! Love the airy-ness and the multitude of products on display. It is so great to be able to take a client to a showroom that actually has the product on the floor to touch, sit in and look at. The service is friendly unlike many other stores that have this same price point. Classic modern pieces in a great showroom with polite, friendly service. Couldn't ask for more!
