NEWYORKHANDMADE makes high quality furniture, wall paneling and cabinetry. If you have a dream, we will bring it to life. We work with architects, designers, decorators, builders and homeowners, so we know how to communicate effectively with varied audiences using drawings,and samples. Our work is of matchless quality and enduring value, but we’re up-to-the-minute when it comes to using materials and finishes that show respect for our environment. We often use lumber reclaimed from old factories and barns throughout the U.S. We purchase logs cut from storm-damaged or standing dead trees in our Hudson Valley. When a project requires wood not grown locally we use only FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified lumber from managed forests. We were early adopters of environmentally friendly finishes. For hand rubbed finishes we use a no-VOC plant-based natural oil, which is food safe. For a sprayed finish, our choice is a low VOC waterborne lacquer made by M.L.Campbell.
