Incredible experience with Stal Timber. The process began with me describing what I needed - A custom bookshelf set in a modern steel/glass home and it had to lend warmth to the area but not stray too far from the original vision for the space. Ideas were laid down on paper and then onto CAD (computer aided design) drawings for precision and creating a mock up. Communication was prompt, professional, and with clarity in the details which was critical in such a project. We added other aesthetic components such as zoned back-lit LED lights (see images) with wiring discreetly tucked into the frame and yet easily accessible. Stained African Mahogany wood was selected for its grain movement and complemented with brushed steel for rigidity and strength. A custom rolling ladder was also designed and built to access the 20'+ high shelving. We are extremely pleased with the entire process, service, and custom product. Expectations were clearly set and the only surprise we got was the high precision of measurement tolerance that averaged about 1/16" through all the pieces and mountings which is incredible.

We used Stal Timber for the bar buildout for our 2nd location, and the scope ended up expanding to furniture and shelves as my confidence in his workmanship and professionalism grew. Josh is a person of high integrity and truly an artist in the medium of wood and steel, able not only to build but to present with vision to help someone (like me) who doesn't have a strong eye for design. We ended up contracting him to build a mantle for our home residence, and I plan to be talking to him soon about some more projects for my business and am more than proud to refer him to anyone.
