Harnessing imperfections takes a certain attention to detail and a constant thrill for change. We have a love for simple, timeless design that puts an emphasis on craft not quantity, distinction not cookie cutter. All of our reclaimed wood is sourced locally from unused and unwanted materials, before being stabilized and sterilized in our small outdoor kiln. Reclaimed wood should ALWAYS be heat treated to not only bring the wood to a suitable moisture content for in-home use, but as the only way to guarantee the sterilization of any insects that may call the wood "home". CONSTRUCTION PHILOSOPHY: modern construction techniques have seen a shift towards the use of poor joinery techniques, which ultimately contribute to wasteful product life-cycles. Practices such as the use of screws or bolts into end-grain wood, cheap knock down hardware, or the preference of technical fasteners over glue make for quick build times but overall low-quality furniture. These practices also mean more "junk" end up in the landfills and consumers have to continually re-purchase products. Our products are built to last a lifetime. Period.
