Motti absolutely transformed my one bedroom apartment and, in doing so, elevated my living experience beyond what I could have possibly imagined. Motti is a consummate professional for following timelines and budget but even more special is that everything is done with care and love with a perfectionist’s touch. I can’t recommend Motti and his team highly enough !

So after a crazy year buying an apartment, renovating it, moving in, only to get married 6 months later, renovating my husband’s apartment and moving in with him, I am finally getting around to this long overdue review for Motti Berco and BEEM NYC. We have worked with Motti to renovate 2 apartments we own in the city- each completely different from each other, with a completely different layout, purpose and vibe. My Gramercy Park apartment was a studio in a large co-op. My vision for this space was to convert it to an airy, bright junior one bedroom for a single person with lots of closet space. My husband’s apartment is a Brownstone duplex on the Upper West side with multiple bedrooms, outdoor space and was probably never renovated since its original construction. We wanted to modernize this apartment to make it chic and stylish while retaining its character with its exposed brick and wood burning fireplace intact. Motti was the designer and master contractor who conceptualized and executed on stunning remodels on both apartments. He is extremely passionate about his work which was reflected in the quality work that he and his team deliver. With the space constraints in our downtown apartment, Motti gave us some very useful remodeling tips that helped us maximize the space usage and at the same time look spacious. He guided us though the co-op approval, and converting the studio into a junior one bedroom with tons of closet space. He extended the bathroom and created a linen closet (which is an absolute boon). He helped pick out top quality materials for our kitchen and bathroom all coming in at budget! Motti is a perfectionist who takes a lot of pride in his work and the “look” of his finished product. To this end, he even threw in several upgrades at no extra cost so it fit into his vision. I must also say that they completed the job on time that helped me move in without any delays. The uptown apartment was a completely different project where we opened up the original galley kitchen, created custom closets all over the kitchen, living and bedroom areas, gut renovated the bathroom and replaced updated to a stone fireplace area while retaining the original brick wall next to it. While this project went a little over the expected time to completion, the finished product was a stunning work of art. The apartment is an industrial themed space that perfectly blends the classic brownstone with a modern minimalist touch. We are very satisfied and happy with the overall experience with Motti and his team and highly recommend them for any renovations.

I give BEEM my highest recommendation, and it is with pleasure that I do so. Every time we walk into our apartment in NYC (it's our second home at the moment), we are reminded of how much we love what it looks and feels like now. The BEEM team is small and family-owned, and because of that you get a kind of personal attention to detail -- as well as to your tastes, desires, life style, etc. -- that is extremely rare. Motti, the owner, is a joy to work with. He is very friendly and courteous and has the eye of an artist. We had clear aesthetic preferences going in and he took the time to listen carefully and understand what we wanted and why. He recognized that as two academics there are things my wife and I value that he needed to appreciate and keep in mind. But all of his advice about design were superb, and we went with most of them. Motti is a perfectionist in the best sense of the term. He wants his work to be the best it can be and he stands behind it, offering to repair and redo things as needed. I also like the way he relates to his workers, all of whom seemed to us to be happy working with him. (The two project managers we worked with, Elyse and Brian, are a delight as well. They made everything easy -- from planning the work to paying the bills. They form a great team with Motti, playfully teasing one another and making the work situation pleasant and stress-free.) I have hired several contractors before, and had a decent experience with most of them. I was nervous about this project, however, because this was our first project in Manhattan. Let me sum up my review by saying that BEEMnyc was by far the best contractor I have ever hired, and my neighbors -- all of whom have complaints about their own contractors -- are amazed at the quality of the work they see in our apartment and wish they had known about BEEMnyc earlier. The work he did in our apartment is, in short, a work of art. BEEMnyc offers reasonable rates (not too low but not high either) and the work they do is of very high quality and will please you for years to come. And I am willing to bet they you will develop relationships with the BEEM personnel that will last for years or even decades.

My husband and I moved into our newly renovated apartment in NYC about a month back. One of the best decisions I made was to hire Motti and Elyse for the complete apt renovation. Motti is extremely passionate about his work and that shows in quality work that he and his team delivers. With the space constraints in NYC, Motti gave us some very useful remodeling tips that helped us maximize the space usage and at the same time looks spacious, especially with the kitchen. He gave us the brilliant idea of soffits that gives a very soothing and relaxing look in both our living rooms and bedrooms. Part of our renovation also included custom closets and floor installation. Motti helped us design the closets and got them made absolutely top class! He loves his team and his team works very hard to give their best. For his customer satisfaction is top priority. I can say that also because even after delivering the job he helped us in repairing some of the additional items at no extra cost! And I must also say that they completed the job on time that helped us move in without any delays. His colleague Elyse is the super-efficient and proactive in getting the administrative items together. It was a completely smooth and effective experience with her with all the paperwork requirements. She handles her job with utmost care and is very respectful believes in making the customer’s experience very pleasant. Am very satisfied and happy with the overall experience with them and highly recommend them for any renovations.
