About Us

Buildings Work, Inc. brings over thirty years of experience to its projects. The company has knowledge of construction methods dating back over 100 years. Our projects include not only contemporary homes and apartments, but also New York City pre-war units and turn-of-the-century units. We have worked on many brownstones in NYC including complete gut renovations of these beautiful structures. Over 90% of our work comes from referrals by clients, architects and interior designers. Our crew and not sub-contractors complete most of the work on a project. The sub-contractors that are brought in have a long time relationship with us. Michael supervises all work on a daily basis. ABOUT MICHAEL 'A project’s success comes first by listening to what the client wants and then by executing their vision with an emphasis on detail and quality.' Michael has a commitment to quality, excellent communication and most of all a commitment to his clients and their projects. He is licensed in both NYC and in Westchester County. He lives in Larchmont, NY with his wife, where they continue to raise their four children.

Michael Dick was responsible for the successful renovation of my condo unit. It was over 2o years old and required a great deal of work. Michael and his team tore down walls to create an open concept. There was a complete kitchen renovation that included a new backsplash, countertops, cabinets, the creation of a pantry closet and a slate storage peninsula. In addition, a new fireplace surround was designed. Recessed lighting, baseboard heating, new bannisters, closet doors, built-ins, california closets and upgraded bethrooms were highlights of the renovation. There were many more fine enhancements too numerous to mention. I found Michael excellent to work with, careful and fair priced. His suggestions and their execution were carefully thought out. Michael is flexible, understanding, patient and knowledgeable. His workers are always courteous, on time, work clean and are cheerful. I would recommend Buildingwork to anyone building, or renovating a home.
