Canada & Klein transformed our kitchen into a family room by extending the area over a little-used deck. The choice of materials and the skill of the craftsmen and subcontractors met the highest standards. We were seasoned homeowners who had endured three other significant remodeling efforts. Jeff Cohen was one of the best contractors to work for us. He devised creative solutions to large and small issues in any undertaking of this scale. He also offered some unique approaches that will make our Craftsman bungalow better than ever as it nears its 100th birthday. It has now been twelve years since Canada & Klein left us. The result stands as a testament to quality and thoughtful execution.

Jeff is a seasoned contractor and has great design ideas. On our kitchen & powder room project, our budget was only $60,000, and Jeff reminded us often that it was a small budget, and he made us feel like our project was a burden on him. He kicked off the project on day 1 with the demolition of our kitchen and bathroom. Then nothing happened for several weeks until we began contacting tradesmen on our own and removing scope from Jeff’s proposal. He struggled to find trades people available to keep the project moving, often times weeks would go by with no work being completed. We also found it very frustrating when his bids for the work were significantly below actual costs. It was as if he had no experience costing out the work (he costed out the painting at $14K, but his painter actually wanted to charge $20K). And finally, we rarely saw Jeff at our home once it became the job site. Even though he lives one town away from us, he rarely stopped by to check on the progress of work. I would not recommend Canada & Klein based on our experience. We plan on renovating 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths in the Spring of 2024, and we wouldn’t even think of considering him again.

We have been involved in eight major home renovation projects and from that experience have learned that there are three important things to look for in a contractor: high quality workmanship, creative problem-solving and fair pricing. Canada and Klein delivered on all three. Jeff Cohen and his team of subcontractors provided us with first class workmanship which, nearly a year later, has held up well. Inevitably, new issues arose during the construction process and every time Jeff was there with good solutions. Finally, although we expanded scope of the project significantly after Canada and Klein began their work, their pricing remained fair throughout. We can recommend them without reservation.

Best contractor I've worked with... went above and beyond in every area... design, counsel, quality of craftsmanship, level of commitment to the project, tradesmen and integrity.... all first class. not inexpensive but you pay for the quality. We did one big job... kitchen... and many other smaller ones... would highly recommend.

Our experience with Canada & Klein began in 1990. At that time, we couldn't have been any happier with the remodel of 2 bathrooms. In 1996 and 2002 Canada & Klein remodeled the rest of our 3500 square foot home, including a major addition, during which we remained living in our house with 2 young children. As of 2018, we have continued to use Canada & Klein exclusively for every repair & upgrade, both small and large. The quality of craftsmanship, knowledge, creativity, professionalism of their crew and subcontractors, and response time has exceeded all of our expectations. Every project was completed in a timely manner and within our budget. In addition, Canada and Klein remains our "go to" resource for advice and recommendations, and we have never considered using any other contractors. We can state without any reservations, that Canada & Klein earned our 5 star rating!

We were very pleased with Jeff Cohen and his team from start to finish. He came in as one of the lowest bids, but we feel there was no compromise on quality. Most important to us was how easy Jeff was to deal with--he was honest, straight-forward, attentive, and very respectful of the condo rules and our neighbors. He was very knowledgeable and worked well with our architect, and on occasion made great suggestions for improvement or cost savings. The work progressed well on an appropriate schedule, and they were able to work around our needs while living on site. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who asked, and would use him again for a future project.
