Dash Construction

I hired Jan Hector and Dash Construction to paint and so some drywall repairs. The drywall repair was over the dining room table after doing some plumbing repair. The ceiling/drywall repair was left in a sub-standard condition. Poor condition. Jan promised for a year to get it fixed properly. Never happened. If you want to get charged a premium price for sub-standard work go ahead. Very poor supervision of sub contractors.

Jan Hector told me that the project timeline for a small one bath and a half would take 2 weeks, no more than 3 weeks total. After 6 weeks, she still had not completed the job. Her plumber left many items undone, and she actually had to fire the first crew she brought out because they did such a terrible job. Though she gave assurances over and over, she really wasn't paying close attention to the work her subs were doing, and they had to rip and and re-do many items. To date, she has not returned my last call requesting that they complete two minor items; and she left one larger item completely unfinished. Though she gave me a credit toward hiring someone else, that's a very disreputable thing to do to a customer. I paid her in full, and now she hasn't returned my texts or calls. I would never refer her to anyone else. I question whether she really knows what it takes to be a general contractor... I should have asked to see her license, but I didn't. I regret using her at all, and now I'm hesitant to use Thumbtack ever again.
