Derrig construction

The worst renovation experience I've ever had. He was completely unprofessional and went unresponsive after getting my money. I had so many issues with he siding, he didn't do anything up to code and was arrogant and rude.

We are very happy with the ongoing business relationship with Derrig Construction. Over the years, Derrig construction was involved with many projects regarding our property ( 4 plex) . We had repair/reno of 3 bathrooms ( tiling, gyproc, paint) insolation and structural work (outside balconies, surface decking). The company is large enough to supply the proper expertise and, small enough to get the personal service and attention. We would recommend without hesitation this company. Ryan and his team did a great job on a full gut/remodel of the first floor of our Montreal-West town house - an older home, built in the 1920's. The entire first floor was redone - new configuration, new insulation, dry-wall, electrical, plumbing, flooring (hard wood and title), new kitchen, bathroom, floor to ceiling stone fireplace, lighting and mouldings. They also installed a support beam and columns to make the entire space open concept. They completed the project on time (just over two months) and the budget was well respected, except for a few unforeseen costs related to plumbings and wiring once the walls were opened up - but they were unavoidable. They always showed up on time, were very accommodating, helpful, courteous and flexible, and we have a very beautiful main floor to show for it. We have since recommended Ryan and his team to friends (who have also been happy with their work) and they came back last summer to re-build our front porches and did a great job. We definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable contractor in the Montreal area.

Good day to everyone looking to hire Ryan and his team, for many years now personally for my Home improvement and for our various rental and commercial properties, as well as our large hangar expansion work, we have relied on Ryan and his ability to get the job done. But more importantly, we have also relied on Ryan to find emergency solutions to big problems, and he has always come trough. I am impressed by this young guy and the resourcefulness he always shows! I have used Ryan extensively for many years and would not hesitate to recommend him. As a general contractor I feel confident that Ryan manages our worksites professionally and gets the right trades to assist him. It puts our mind at ease to have him in charge.

Ryan did our ceramic floors in our kitchen, entrance and laundry room in the fall of 2011. The project lasted twice as long as predicted since Ryan left for an "unplanned" trade show during the first week of the reno. One of his workers dented the front of our brand new microwave-range hood when demolishing our kitchen floor. They did not wash the floor when they left and I had to scrub dried grout off the tiles for hours. To make matters worse, the colour of the grout is inconsistent throughout. Although they installed a new subfloor, two tiles have cracked. I would never recommend this reno company.

When you buy an older home you never quite know what to expect but Ryan and the team at Derrig Construction guided me all the way through. He was able to explain all parts of the job to me in simple language so that we always knew what was going on. He even helped with design choices a BONUS! Excellent job on the siding of the house and my back patio looks brand new and I am the envy of the neighborhood :) Highly recommend the Derrig team to anyone out there looking to renovate !
