CAUTION: READ BEFORE YOU PAY A DEPOSIT. On December 9, 2020 we paid Tom Craig Remodeling and Building (Therma Builders) $37,457 as a deposit to build a two-story addition on our home. The next month they were very hard to get a hold of and did not follow through on many of the things they said they would. By January 15th, they had still not filed paperwork to pull permits, so we informed them that we were cancelling our project. The owners Tom Drunasky and Eric Wooten confirmed verbally and in writing that they would give us a full refund for the $37,457 deposit. They told us on 6 different occasions that a check would be dropped off, and they never showed up. I once drove to Tampa to meet Eric to pick it up, and after waiting an hour he failed to show up. We then hired a lawyer who sent two demand letters for payment which they did not respond to. They said that their lawyer would be delivering a release agreement, and that never showed up. We filled a formal police report and were assigned a detective from the economic crime unit who informed us that they had committed felony theft because they had not paid us back. After the detective put some pressure on them we started to get some money back but very slowly and in small amounts from Eric. They spent our money on other projects and debts that they had. It took over 7 months to finally get our money back. Tom Drunasky the owner did nothing to help. When I spoke to him he said “Your money is just gone, sorry.” Tom completely stopped responding to any calls or emails after about a month. This was a reputable company but I wanted to share so others were aware before they engaged with them.

I contracted with Tom Craig Builders/ Therma Builders to build a small home to be completed on 2/2021. False statements, deceit throughout the process, Had to involve Pasco Sheriff. Tom Drunasky owner did not have funds to pay first subcontractor, numerous lies. Only 9 days of on site work done since start. Co owner Eric T Wooten has history of fraud, grand theft, bad check, defrauding financial institutions and other crimes. Has formed other corporations and closed within the year. Check positive reviews as some are not from clients. I paid $52,000 and cannot reach them for answers at office that's been closed for months or other ways. No end in sight. Once they had the money, lies and little work. Advice...Do not fall into this trap.

Do not give this contractor money prior to him starting the job. I made the mistake of giving deposit 1 year ago and he still has not started the job. He does not answer his phone, return calls, reply to emails or text messages.

Tom Craig turned our screen porch into a true living space/sunroom. There were problems, but they were taken care of quickly. They even found an electrical problem in the original wiring. It is now about 8 months later and the addition still looks great. No one can tell where the old home ends and the new sunroom was added. I am now having my kitchen remodeled. They are not the fastest company, but they do excellent work. The co-owner called tonight to tell me that the rental truck broke down and that was why my cabinets were not delivered today. He says they will be here tomorrow. This is the third job we have had Tom Craig do for us. We plan on getting new windows from them soon.

Tom Craig Remodeling and Building cannot be trusted. They took my money and failed to submit sealed engineering plans and obtain a permit required by law in the city I live in. An independent inspector found the repairs to be inadequate and not properly done. (Have detailed report of same). I've tried for 2 months to resolve this and Tom Craig Remodeling and Building has refused to refund my money and will not respond to me.
Consumers beware!

We started our addition in Dec 2019. Of course we had to wait for permits which took another month. Our three month build has been going on since Jan 2020. It’s now July 2020. Promises, false truths, and then more promises. Tile alone has taken over three weeks and it’s still not laid correctly. If you look at the windows the closest one you can see if not level. The plumbing was moved three times, the French doors had to be uninstalled and moved up so they could lay the tile floor correctly. They where just going to make a metal rod in “fix” the problem. Was told plumber would be out over two weeks ago and sink and tub still not installed. Asked them to clean up yard since I was having my grandkids in and that wasn’t done. Asked them to wear boot covers and mask as my kids where here. One person wore them. One. When the new foreman came in I was told I would get a schedule so I’d know when they would be here. Didn’t happen. You can’t trust anything they say which I have text to prove. I bought and had most of the items on hand and the book with the guides on site in Feb 2020. No excuses. Haven’t seen the foreman in over a week. This wasn’t what I wanted to do but I’ve never had to do this as I normally don’t post negativity on social media I feel I have no choice. The owner Tom seems to be a very nice man and unfortunately his staff is bringing him down.
