Victor and his team remodeled our kitchen including redoing the countertop, backsplash, cabinetry, and stove/hood installation. We're very happy with the quality of work executed by the team. As well, Victor is a very affable and kind person! Highly recommend.

VH Home Renovation is AWESOME! My husband and I recently purchased a home in Redwood City that needed remodeling and updating. We interviewed numerous contractors most of whom we found on Houzz, but in the end decided to go with Victor with VH Renovation because he really took the time to understand what we wanted to do, and how we wanted to get there. We were looking for a contractor who we could really trust, and someone who was willing to partner with us and to think outside the box, which is what we found in Victor. Our first project that we wanted to tackle was a kitchen remodel. Victor and the VH crew took down a partial load bearing wall that was separating our kitchen from our living/dining space, and replaced it with a flush beam to create a seamless open concept kitchen/living/dining space. He also rearranged the foot print of our kitchen, added an island, replaced the old windows, put in recessed lighting, re-wired the majority of the main living area, and added plumbing. Victor is a true craftsman, the trim job he did around the new windows is so beautiful that I don't want to cover it with window treatments. Every time I look around the space he remodeled for us, it amazes me that it's 1) really my house, and 2) that Victor was able to take the ideas I had and make them a reality. If you are looking for a contractor who will partner with you, really listen to what you want, and help you get there cost-effectively and efficiently, then I would highly recommend you go with VH Home Renovation. Also, last but not least, Victor's crew... they are really the nicest of guys who are very professional, hardworking, trustworthy, and unobtrusive. We hired Victor Amaya after receiving a personal recommendation for him from some friends of ours who did a major home remodel and having seen his work in their home. Victor did a great job on helping us design the remodel of two of our bathrooms and provided advice on materials and style. His execution of the remodel was timely and it was clear he took great care in his work. For example, he first prepared a couple of oak boards to fill in the gap between our flooring and new bathroom floor in white oak but when he saw the color was a little off mentioned it to me and replaced them with red oak on his own initiative. Secondly, when we were reviewing the positioning of some installed medicine cabinets he volunteered that he thought they were too low and needed to be raised--this was after finishing and painting the surround--so it wasn't an insignificant move. Two of his workers, Luis & (forgot name), were also very careful and considerate of our home while doing the remodel. They kept the main area spotless and free after each day of work and we never had any concern that they had free access to our home over the several month project. The final outcome was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Victor's business to any of our friends.

My partner and I hired Victor and his team to remodel a bathroom, bump out a bedroom to add a walkin in closet and build a bay window. His estimate was very reasonable. Victor was incredibly helpful from the beginning design to completion. His work was beautiful, and he was on budget. I appreciated the fact that he was meticulous. He spent the time to make everything perfect. His team was professional and kept the worksite clean. We were also able to add a couple items along the way such as repainting most of the house which was awesome. His help with paint colors made our house feel like new. Our bathroom is just perfect. I am going to have vh renovation help my mom with a remodel in the next year. I have also recommended victor to my colleagues at work.

We hired VH Home Renovation & Preservation to redo an internal stairway and refinish a whole first level, which includes flooring, lighting, sheetrock, closets, and front door. The results were amazing. That whole lower level went from "wierd" to "wonderful". What I appreciated most about working with Victor and the VH team, was their responsive, upbeat and thorough approach to customer service. They really cared about the quality of their work, and making sure that we were happy.

Victor and his crew did a fantastic job with our bathroom remodel. They were clean, friendly and worked efficiently to complete the job. They were a week over the estimated completion date. However, that was due to time waiting for the inspector. They even worked Saturdays! I would fully recommend Victor and will definitely be working with him on future projects.

VH Home Renovation and Preservation was recommended to me by my electrician who had worked on a few jobs with Victor. He didn't know him personally but could attest to his previous work. Victor came to my home the very same day to discuss my project. I explained what I wanted and showed him photos of what I envisioned the old tool shed-turned-cottage to look like. Victor told me something right in the beginning that convinced me to hire him. When I relayed a particularly difficult addition he stated "nothing is impossible". Victor is very professional, flexible and creative in his design and workmanship. So much so that I hired him for two additional projects. Another positive for me was his relationship with his workers. He is so calm, thorough and courteous treating them as well as his clients. My husband and I feel very fortunate to have been introduced to Victor. We're planning more projects and look forward to having him and his crew return.

We completely gutted and remodeled two bathrooms, and did some other upgrades throughout our home. I could not be more satisfied with the process and the results. I’d gotten quotes from other firms before being referred to Victor Amaya, the owner of VH Home Renovation & Preservation Victor on a neighborhood site. At our first meeting, I immediately got the feeling of confidence and genuine interest in my project I was looking for. Talking to Victor’s references made my decision to go with him easy as they couldn’t say enough about how great he and his team are and both had used him for multiple projects. I especially appreciated that Victor allows you to have as much or as little input as you want. As design, color, etc. are not my strong suit, I was relieved he was open to sharing his vision based on 20+ years of experience. My project was to remodel my original 1959 master bathroom which Victor completely transformed with tile, recessed lighting, enlarged shower and double sink vanity plus installed crown molding, baseboards, framing of the windows and paint throughout the bathroom and bedroom. What had been a source of embarrassment is now my favorite place to be! Words to describe Victor and his team are professional, creative, trustworthy, accommodating, thoughtful, neat, amazing attention to detail and perfectionist. Needless to say, I recommend him wholeheartedly and would definitely use him again.

I can not say enough good things about Victor Amaya and his team. We have used them for various projects throughout our home - each time he has done a meticulous job far exceeding our expectations. Over the past 5 years he has removed heavy texturing on walls throughout our house, installed grasscloth wallpaper, new molding, and completed a full gut and remodel of a bathroom. In addition, he was able to interpret a unique look our designer had in mind for our fireplace and our foyer and create it through his expert skills in painting. Our designer was so impressed, she now recommends him herself. I've found his pricing to be very fair, his team honest, polite, neat and timely. Victor has the perfect combination of technical, design, and communication skills. His project management skills are top-notch and he is truly a delight to work with. He completed a living room/kitchen renovation for us, and we were so pleased we immediately hired him back to do an outdoor renovation project for us as well.
