I had the pleasure to work with Federow Development on the renovation on my kitchen and mudroom area. The process went extremely well, Garrett and his crew was always responsive, on time and delivered an exceptional finish. I'm extremely satisfied with the work and would recommend Federow Development to anyone.

We had the pleasure of working with Garrett and his team to build our new construction home. We are thrilled with the end result as our dream home is not only gorgeous, but built unbelievably well. Everyone that Garrett works with is top notch. Highly recommend!

Building our new home started as a dream and became a reality after 2 years, thanks to Federow Development. Our build took 13 months from demolition to move in and Garrett was an integral, reliable, and trustworthy partner and leader during this process. Here are a few highlights about working with Garrett: (1). Fee structure. The fee structure is clear and transparent, and avoids incentives to the builder to elevate construction costs. (2) Integrity. Garrett and his team have the highest integrity. He wants to build a great product that his customers will love. I felt that Garrett had our best interest in mind behind each decision. He stands by his work and his word. (3). Communication. Garrett communicates well and in a timely manner. He listened to and understood what was important to us, which was an energy efficient home. He adapted our build to meet our specific needs, including staggered walls, foam insulation beneath basement concrete, solar, and geothermal. As a result, we achieved a -1 HERS rating. (4). Subcontractors. Garrett has built relationships with subcontractors who provide high quality work and are dependable. (5). Quality. Garrett is knowledgeable and pays attention to detail. After living in our new home for several months, we are very pleased with the quality of the construction. I am grateful that Garrett & his team built our home and without a doubt we would go him again. We also feel that we gained a friend who has gone above and beyond on several occasions. Some examples: when my dog went missing, Garrett spent a couple of hours looking for her until she was found. When I was having electrical issues with my vehicle, Garrett came over, analyzed the situation, found the problem, and corrected it, which took a few hours.

Garrett and the Federow Development Team are the absolute best!! We interviewed many builders before starting our project in Wellesley, MA and Garrett was by far the best match for us. Some key points that distinguish him from other builders - 1. Focus on quality of the engineering - Garrett cares about all of the little things. Some that you can see (immaculate stonework) and some that you cannot see like engineered floor trusses and special-rough plumbing joints that alert you to leaks. He is always learning about the latest building technology and applies it to the homes that he builds. 2. Green focus - We met many high-end Wellesley builders and Garrett was the only builder that had worked extensively with GeoThermal, Solar, and other green building techniques. He has the right team to implement and he knows how the systems work. We are so happy with our new GeoThermal system and the savings are already evident! 3. Responsiveness - Garrett is picky about his customers and only takes on a limited number of projects. This allows him to really focus on making sure that he is explaining every step of the project to you and working to meet your building and design objectives. 4. Quality of sub-contractors - A contractor is only as good as his subs and Garrett's subs are the best! They have all worked with him for a long time and are loyal because he treats them well. They are easy to talk to about the project and it feels like an integrated building experience. 5. Finally - cost. Garrett's approach to building is very fair and although he might not be the cheapest (he uses top materials and does high-end construction) he is not nearly as expensive as some of the other builders that we met with. Throughout the project we felt like we were given reasonable cost trade-offs and when we went over budget (which we did frequently) we did it with full knowledge of what we were getting for the extra money. Overall an amazing and educational experience and we would highly recommend to anyone! Garrett Federow of Federow Development was a pleasure to work with on our custom built house. He and his team managed the project well including the timeline and budget. We love our new space and all of the little details we chose from windows, to flooring, to custom cabinets, stone counters, lighting, fixtures and amazing appliances. Garrett offered great expertise and guidance while building us a solid, energy efficient beautiful house that we now get to call home. He goes above and beyond and we highly recommend Federow Development.

We hired Federow Development to take over our custom-build in Needham in the middle of construction, after our first contractor went out of business. The deck was stacked against Garrett and his team… it was not a straight-forward design, the crews had been inactive for two months, and there were groundwater issues with the site. Yet Garrett exceeded our expectations and completed the build nearly on-time to the original schedule, and within budget. He worked closely with the architect to ensure every element of the house was just right, and he also welcomed our frequent visits to the site to provide our own input and guidance – one of our fond memories was Garrett and his team welcoming us and a friend on a lunch break around our future kitchen island (just a plywood table at the time). He even solved the nasty groundwater problem by designing and installing an intricate drainage system – we have not had a drop of water in the basement since moving in. Through the process, he won our trust and friendship. We cannot recommend Garrett highly enough for what he built for us… a beautiful home that we take immense pride in every day.

Garrett @Federow Development came recommended to us from a friend for our basement renovation. He was building the house at the end of our street and also lives in Needham so I was confident in selecting him. His estimate was very fair and he started/completed all work according to schedule. We had a good idea of what we wanted, but offered suggestions that I'm glad we listened to. The quality of work and responsiveness throughout the project was excellent. I have dealt with numerous contractors having owned many properties and I can say that Garrett has unequivocally been the best to work with.

Federow Development built our gorgeous home, during a pandemic-- they stayed on track, and on budget. The entire team was pleasant to work with. The entire experience was relatively stress-free. I had no idea building a house could be as smooth as it was. Overall, I couldn't be happier. Even after we took over ownership of the house, Garrett was easy to get ahold of and accessible.

We purchased our home from Federow Development and I highly recommend Garrett Federow and his company, Federow Development for any new construction home or renovation. Our home was under construction when we went entered into a purchase contract and 7 months later as promised, our home was completed on time. Garrett and his team worked with our family to customize every element of our home. Garrett is detailed, smart, patient and knowledgeable. He is not just a builder, but he understands every element of home construction, style and design. He helped me customize my kitchen and even made us a custom oven hood to create the look of a magazine photo I had from Architectural Digest. Garrett worked to bring in some European appliances which made installation more challenging for his team - but he was willing to take it on. He worked with me to make my exterior patio larger than the original size spec'd. Garrett took down walls from the original floor plan when we asked. He showed me by example, what certain elements would look like in our home by bringing us to see other homes he was building in town. He helped me choose and price out appliances. Garrett brought us into his home to show us examples of work that he has done for himself. There was no question that Garrett or his team left unanswered. Whether you are hands on like me and like to be involved in every decision or you are looking for a a company who can make decisions for you, I highly recommend Federow development.

We purchased a new construction home in Needham, MA from Garret and Sara Federow in summer of 2020. QUALITY - You can tell Garrett has been doing this a long time. He really thinks of everything and makes tweaks along the way to ensure everything is just right. This includes major items, like the placement of water, sewage, and gas systems/manifolds -- to moderate items such as the placement of a gas rough in for the grill -- to smaller finishes such as the trim work around toilet water supply lines. TIMELINESS - Our house was in construction during the COVID-19 crisis and during that time, he was able to maintain an on-track schedule and secure all products needed to complete the property. In fact, we actually closed ~1 month early. RESPONSIVENESS - During the build process, both Garrett and Sara were extremely responsive, we met on zoom multiple times throughout the build process (we were remote) and were able to make key decisions quickly. Every decision we made was implemented based on our specifications FINISHES & DESIGN - Both Sara and Garrett helped us immensely in this area. As noted above, our build occurred during the COVID-19 crisis. As such, most retail outlets were closed and we were unable to look at tile/hardware/countertops in person. They worked with us to understand our style preferences and provided multiple idea options for us to consider. We are thrilled with the selections we made and how they helped inform the finishes in the house.

We could not be happier with the home that we purchased from Federow Development. Not knowing Garrett until touring our new home, we were immediately impressed by the attention to detail, quality of the construction, and enthusiasm for his craft. We did not view a single house that came close to the amenities that Federow Development provided. Throughout the next year, Garrett and his crew were frequently in touch and took care of the punch list and beyond. Ultimately, we put our trust in Federow Development, and they delivered. We are fortunate to find our new home, and we could not more strongly recommend Federow Development in the Needham area.
