1st, The water pressure is awful, they have us at the bare minimum 58 psi which means you cannot do two things at once such as shower and run the dishwasher. The sprinkler system doesn’t cover the whole yard bc of the pressure. We should be at least 70 psi! Olthof could have put in a booster pump but no so it’s 1800 for that! American water told us that the builder should have installed boosters since we are so far from the water main. Now the main issue, we have had 4 teams out to discuss our heating and cooling and they all agreed with the exception of olthof that we are grossly undersized on our furnace and the hvac. We have 21 vents and We have a 3 ton ac and should have a 4 ton! Olthof heard our concerns and recommended the cheapest filters instead of the expensive ones which will eventually destroy our coils! Terrible advice! I am beyond disappointed. Olthof also did not install our fresh air intake into our furnace either! This will cost 20k minimum to fix otherwise the house will never cool or heat properly. This builder cuts so many corners to save money it’s just ridiculous! We are furious

Gotta say that I’m pretty disappointed in the way a leaking roof gets handled with Olthof. It’s been 2 and a half months since the leak started and it’s leaking worse now than when it started. The sense of urgency with an issue like this is absolutely unacceptable. Maybe this review will get them to take these types of issues a little more seriously.

Kevin Robertson was extremely professional. He took the time to explain all the necessary documentation required for new construction. I appreciate the fact that he was kind and patient through this process.

Just listen. I know builders get reviews great to horrible. That is the business they are in. My job isn't to oversell, or to demolish. The reason for my review is to do just that. Review. I am a fair judge of character and my perceptions are usually based on fact. That being said thos is what I think of Olthof homes. Incannot soeak for every home or owner, but the experience my wife and I have had has been very good, if not great. They have been honest, and helpful, friendly and patient. We had a long road on our side of the transaction process and Shelley Jones was right there with us step for step, the whole way. Her great attitude and ability to listen and provide helpful information to two very needy people, that changed their minds more than the weather, was so instrumental in the success of our decision. She gave great feedback and prompt response to whatever we needed. She is a pro and the template for how to treat customers. That being said, the house is beautiful, the service and craftmanship we have had is solid. They have a hardworking professional named James Huddleston that went above and beyond so many times for us we can't even count. Any maintenance question, concern, or request was handled immediately, and almost ALWAYS way beyond what we asked for. He is so friendly and helpful, I really can't say enough about his help during inspections and walk through, and beyond. This team works very hard and they have our gratitude!

We purchased a spec house from Olthof in Walden Clearing subdivision almost one year ago. We just had our 11 month warranty walk through and I have to say, am beyond disappointed in the handling of some of our issues. We were told that some defects were not "bad" enough to be fixed. While our experience with the sales team was genuine and all the employees that we have spoken with have been extremely courteous, the answers we have gotten have been on the cold side. The concrete in our driveway is cracking and breaking off and we were told to seal it ourselves with waterproof caulk. Our cabinet doors are splitting and again we were told we should be able to fix that ourselves, while they will fix the "really bad" ones. The paint used in our house must have been extremely watered down because it is just absolutely terrible. Although Olthof will come back out and fix some things, for the price of the house, these little things should not have been "forgotten." I.E. sanding our banister and adding the protective top coat. Our home itself is beautiful and we are thankful for it but the issues coming up and lack of care is truly disappointing. We purchased a new home because we did not want to have to fix previous home owners shoddy work - well now we just have to fix the builders shoddy work - pick your poison, I guess.

We moved into our new home at Walden Clearing St’John .. The whole process was so smooth .. Steven Hoeflich was our contact person from the very beginning, he is one of the most amicable and helpful persons we’ve ever met and was always readily available. The whole team of Olthof Homes deserve a shoutout. We never had any major issues or hiccups and whatever minor issues we had were taken care of at the first month inspection. I am writing this letter to personally compliment several team members of Olthof Homes on their exceptional customer service delivered to me. Shelley, James, Bill and Stephanie was very professional. Shelley was amazing at helping me find my very first home. From the best layout, to color choices, to even down to some help with some security measures, she answered all my questions even on her days off. They all helped me through the entire process & this has been a long process, but the time has come to close, 4 days away. They truly deserve the appreciation. Please keep up the hard work and thank you again for all your assistance and help throughout the entire process.

I started to look at Olthof Homes about 2 years before my wife and I put our old home on the market. I made contact with Adrian Pedraza at Olthof Homes in Plainfield and he was so helpful providing me with all the information I requested and the liberty to come in multiple times to see the different model homes that I was extremely pleased with him. Then we found out Olthof Homes was coming to the new subdivision two miles north of my old home in Romeoville and I started to talk to the wife and we got the wheels in motion to purchase one for ourselves. We met with Adrian and asked about building new, he took us through two brand new models ready to sell to see what we liked and instead of building new and waiting 9-10 months we bought one of the homes we walked through which is our dream home. The purchasing process was so easy with Olthof homes, they were up front about everything and even now 3 months after we bought our new home olthoff keeps in touch with us to make sure our experience with them is the best and you know wehat? it is! my wife and I highly recommend Olthof Homes.

These people built my home last year and it is actually awful. Paint has runs and overspray, drywall work is sloppy, the walls literally ice up inside the house in some places on cold days due to poor insulation, the floors are creaky, the home is impossible to properly heat or cool and our NIPSCO bills are $400 - $600 trying to do so. They really don't seem to care about anything after you are in the house and will just send you a canned letter for everything that basically says it is not their fault/problem or else they make you wait months to fix something and you go back and forth via email and phone. The warranty is a joke.

The process of purchasing the home was fantastic. Steven was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was extremely polite as well. The selections process was very smooth and they were very helpful in terms of interior design decisions. The quality of the home was slightly below satisfactory in my opinion for the price. The wholes in the dry wall for the outlets and fans were cut too large and show past the covers. Some areas of the trim/drywall are uneven and appear wavy. I also have experienced lumps underneath the carpeting. The paint quality is terrible as well. In my opinion, the construction of the home was focused more on speed than quality.
