Guest House

Boy oh boy did we have a bad experience with Guest House. I am a professional builder, with years of experience interacting with house staging companies. Guest House started out reasonably well, if a bit formally. The designer met me at the property and seemed to understand the project needs and design goals. She said she would have a design to us within 2-3 days. Five days later, I thought to check the website that Guest House insisted on corresponding with us on, and found messages from that day asking for additional guarantees before they would produce the design. This was AFTER we had already paid in full. We finally received the first concept that night - and they had gone in an entirely different direction than what was asked of them. After I called them on that delay and discrepancy, the account rep Bret got very defensive, and over a series of calls and emails continued to handle the entire situation surprisingly poorly. At that point (two weeks out from our staging) the vibe had already turned south, the customer service was terrible, and the designs were not up to par. We asked to cancel, ONLY TO BE INFORMED that they intended to keep our monies (except for photography)! Crazy! After raising the temperature enough to make things uncomfortable and involving Alex the CEO they finally reduced what they demanded (first to $1200 and finally to $500), we relented to buy our way out of a terrible situation, bad customer service, and poor design. There are lots of staging options in Denver. Look elsewhere to sell your house.
