Barbara designs elegant interiors with a mix of traditional and contemporary elements, creating pleasant and comfortable homes. Her extensive knowledge of architecture and expertise in design of woodwork, stone, diverse styles of cabinetry and architectural detailing, allow for the highest level of style and sophistication of her design.
Barbara inherited the love of art and beautiful furniture from her mother who filled the childhood home in Poznan, Poland with unique European antique furniture and accessories. Her brother, a tennis player and lover of art, traveled the world and accumulated the most revered private art collection in Poland. After receiving a Master’s degree in Architecture Barbara sought a new beginning to learn alongside the most cutting edge architects and designers in New York City. Barbara joined the renowned firm of architect Alan Wanzenberg and interior designer Jed Johnson, who practiced at the pinnacle of Manhattan style and sophistication and it is there, that Barbara honed her craft for refined architecture and interiors.
For the last twenty years Barbara has worked with several of Greenwich, CT’s top interior design and architectural firms including Rinfret, Ltd. Her work during this time had been featured in many publications, books and magazines. In 2011 she founded Barbara Fibak Design LLC.
