Michael Lyons has been a dream designer for us. He was easy to work with. He is; a visionary, creative, thoughtful, detail oriented, passionate about his work, hard working and diligent. He listened and took to heart what we wanted. A little about the process that we experienced with Michael and our remodel: We interviewed five designers before selecting Michael. Michael stood out from the rest for a number of reasons, a few are: 1. CID (Certified Interior Designer, having a formal education in design). 2. During our first few meetings with Michael he imparted knowledge, passion and pride in his designs and work. 3. He drove us to a few of the homes that he had completed and a couple that were in progress, we noticed his unique design on each project. 4. This is what he does for a living, nothing else. He works, lives and breathes design. Our project was fairly sizable as we had our 3600 sq. ft. home pretty much gutted, moving out to our casita for three months. Later we had our casita remodeled by Michael, of course. Michael: * Listened to what we wanted, asking us about our lifestyle, etc. so that he could design a home that works for us and he did! * Is detailed oriented, to the finest degree, amazing what he has come up with! * Updated us regularly on how much we had spent, when to expect the various contractors, there were no surprises. * When determining pricing he would, as he says "value engineer" costs, meaning effectively reduce costs by shopping different vendors/materials/etc. thus trying to keep our total costs down. * Returns calls/emails/texts usually within the hour but definitely within 24 hours. * Arranged for the movers both out and in. * Stands behind his contractors work. Needless to say, our home is beautiful with the various stone, textures, colors, fabrics, wall treatments. Another dramatic touch, Michael turned our drab master bathroom into a spa. Friends told me that after a few months their designers put them on the back shelf, or so they felt, not contacting them as quickly as they had when the project was fresh. That's not our experience with Michael. Michael has been so right-on that we're finding it difficult to make a decision without having Michael weigh in. Last but not least: An example of his sensitivity for his clients/us; we had a 16 year old deaf dog who also had failing eyesight. We would leave him in the backyard during the day. Without mentioning to me, Michael had large, professionally printed signs made, for our sliders, that stated our dogs issues as well as warning the contractors to keep the doors closed - who would have thought about that? Besides Michael working for us, we have come to call him a friend. He is a very kind and considerate person both on the job and off. Maybe you'll get the opportunity to know Michael as we have. Hired to work with us on renovation of Rancho Mirage house including flooring , window coverings,lighting plus ,built ins and furniture. Color selection and texture are his strength and he worked diligently to find our tiles and surfaces. Michael, connected us with a contractor he has used on several projects. We were also able to view 3 other projects that Michael had done and they were all stunning. He has an unbelievably creative eye for color, texture and lighting.

After interviewing several design and contracting professionals we selected Michael to create a redesign of a bedroom and bathroom for my 94 your old father's upcoming month long stay. Of all the professionals we spoke to, he came out on top for his ability to listen to our desires and his ability to create alternatives to meet our goals. The task we asked Michael to accomplish was difficult: to create a fully handicap accessible space without it looking like one. The result was a beautiful haven not only for my father, but for future guests as well. Michael managed every detail of the project from design drawings, project implementation, to furniture and bedding selections. As we were out of state when the project was underway his attention to detail was very important to us. He kept us fully apprised of the progress, sending us pictures and material selections along the way. He met both the timeline and budget that we set out at the onset of the project. Michael listened to what we hoped to accomplish and made the project even better than we could have dreamed. We are so pleased with the result that we have hired him to completely rennovate our kitchen.

Michael Lyons of Lyons Johnston Associates did a remodel of my condominium in Aliso Viejo California in 2010. He turned a dark uninspired space into an open breezy place that was representative of the ocean close community that I thought it should be. He closely listened to my thoughts about what my home should look like and improved on that vision and turned it into reality. He handled all the details with the contractors and made the process proceed as smoothly as a construction project can possibly go. My home is now a comfortable and beautiful place where I love to live.

This is the 5th home Michael has done for me. As you can see he take a space and creates an environment that is gorgeous yet relaxing and elegant at the same time. I cannot recommend him high;y enough. The pictures speak for themselves. I am sure we will work again in the future too.

Michael Lyons Johnston Assoc. consulted with us on three personal home projects since April 2008 to the current time. Michael worked with us to stage our Beverly Hills home for sale. His suggestions greatly improved the saleability of the house. He began working on the renovation of our condominium in the Marina in 2011 and the renovation of our home on Camano Island WA. 2008. On all three projects his knowledge of style, space, color, design, and light added immeasurably to the projects. His taste in fabric, wall coverings, furniture, lighting, etc. from major elements to the smallest detail is truly fantastic. He has the ability to bring in the owners vision while adding his own flair to the projects. He is a real treasure and a pleasure to work with!!! We recommend him without reservation!
