Susan Calabria Design

Susan Calabria is a New York-based interior designer who brings her two decades of experience, love of color and ability to forecast trends to every job she undertakes. From 1998 - 2001, Susan worked at one of the world’s most renowned textile and wallcovering manufacturers, Schumacher & Company. There she served as their Design Director and created high-end fabric collections working closely with some of the world’s most sought-after interior designers. It was at Schumacher & Company that Susan honed her forte for forecasting design and color trends. This ability, alongside her impeccable understanding of fabrics and colors, led her to venture into her own business in 2002. While operating her own Interior Design business, Susan also worked at Scalamandre from 2010 - 2012. There she served as Creative Director and designed many different fabrics, wallcoverings, and furniture collections. Today, Susan is consulting for several textile manufacturers and mills, both domestically and internationally. She also creates exclusive designs and color palettes for her clients that best represent their individual aesthetics while selling products in the U.S. A Long Island native, Susan studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City from 1986 - 1988 and again from 1989 - 1991. she graduated with degrees in both Fine Arts and Textile Design. Susan also attended Cal State Long Beach in California and the New York School of interior Design.
