Susan Carlson Interiors

I have been meaning to write this review for a long time but, selfishly, I've held back because I'm afraid if word gets out on how great Susan is, she'll get so busy that I'll have trouble getting her to work on more of my projects! Over the years Susan has helped me freshen up and decorate my main house, she's corrected mistakes made by me and prior designers in a gentle and efficient way and the end result always exceeds our expectations. I get many compliments on the main home decor. Most recently, Susan helped us renovate a guest cottage on our property and we couldn't be happier with the result. She helped design the overall space (where to place the staircase, placement of bathrooms, beams, lighting etc), select plumbing fixtures and lighting, design a kitchen, select colors and furniture. The result is outstanding and we are enjoying the space tremendously. Susan really "gets it" - she understands space and she understands the people who will be using the space and her design for us has always ended up with us using and enjoying our space to the maximum. Susan does more than just create beautiful rooms, she creates beautiful rooms that are smart in design and that can be used and enjoyed by her clients. I recommend her without hesitation!

We hired Susan for three separate interior design projects and could not be happier with the results. Our first project was to redecorate our pool house interior as well as provide outdoor furnishings. The landscape was featured in Better Homes and Gardens a few years ago, and with Susan's help we achieved an interior design that excelled in every way!! We loved her work so much that we hired her to redecorate the living room and family room of our home in Westchester. The color palette, striking fabrics and quality craftsmanship all reflect Susan's creative eye and resourcefulness. For our third project, we hired Susan to redecorate our new weekend home in Vermont. She understood our needs and tastes, and brought a fresh perspective that really made everything perfect. We get so many compliments, I have lost count! I look forward to my next project with Susan and would definitely recommend her to others.

It has been a pleasure working with Susan Carlson. She is extremely talented and has a great eye for color and design. She is professional and sensitive to my wants and needs while keeping to my budget. She is very resourceful and a lot of fun to work with. Susan has turned my home into a beautiful oasis.

I hired Susan to help me with our home in Rye about six months after we moved in. Much of our furniture was not fitting well into the new house and I needed both reupholstery as well as furniture arrangement. Susan was great; she gave us so many choices but never was pushy toward one item or type. I felt that she was interested in getting our house to be a great presentation of our family. Susan is really knowledgable about both fabric qualities as well as design. I tend to go a little "fusty" in an effort to be conservative and not make any mistakes. Susan encouraged us to try slightly more modern looks and as a result I think our home design is very classic but also really crisp. I would recommend her services. She is also a pleasure to work with; really funny and down to earth and approachable.

Susan is a delight to work with. She is professional, knowledgeable, has great design talent and is creative in stretching a budget. She also has a great sense of color and space. Susan has a wonderful way of being able to translate a client's many design wishes and thoughts into a well thought out plan, and then execute it on time and on budget. She redid my office last year, and I just love it. She is now working on our master bedroom.
