Vanessa Murphy is one of the most creative and hard working designers in the bay area. She will go out of her way to please you and she has fantastic style. She has lots of design experience from living in New York and she brings her great sense of style to the bay area. She can make even your smallest room look important and inviting. She just wants to please you and can accommodate any budget.

Vanessa is wonderful to work with. She provided interior design consultation for several of my garden clients. My clients and I so appreciate her collaborative approach, keen eye, fabric suggestions, color knowledge and furniture choices. She has it all. For one small project - my client wanted a refresh on some interiors to go with his new garden. Vanessa helped with lighting a dark long hallway, kitchen fabrics and a living room revitalization. Vanessa was so patient and honest with her suggestions. Now that he has a refreshed interior and a new garden, the client is over the moon. Vanessa's talents go beyond just filling up a room - she really listens to her clients and helps them create spaces that reflect their sense of home and sanctuary.

Vanessa did a lot of work on my place in Pacific Heights. It was a difficult time in my life and she made it easy to recycle old pieces and find new ones. For me, the best part is that she follows the KISS rule and made the changes easy for me. I am very pleased with the results.

Vanessa has helped us transform our house to a calm and beautiful home. Vanessa worked with us on our living room and our dining-family room. We had never worked with a decorator before and we are so pleased that we chose Vanessa. Her positive energy infused the whole house. Vanessa is great at the “hunt”- she found some beautiful consignment pieces that were perfect. She helped us decide which pieces needed to be purchased new and which pieces were available on consignment. She encouraged us to see our existing treasures in a new light and gave us great ideas on new ways to display them.

I have worked with Vanessa Murphy several times on several projects in San Francisco and Marin over the last several years manufacturing custom sewing and upholstery projects. In Nov. 2011 my wife passed away. We had a 3100sq' home and a condominium in Los Angeles, It was necessary for me to move out of both places and downsize. Times were difficult and I was not always capable of making rational decisions. Downsizing was going to be hard. I had no idea of what to take and what to sell. I met Vanessa and she immediately knew something about my personality and was able to make the selections of what to take and what not to take. She knew much more than simply decorating. She understood her client. I have used other decorators in the past but nobody has had greater insight than Vanessa. As can be seen by her website she did remarkable work in the Lakeshore Lofts. The art work was placed in the proper places and everything was color coordinated. I highly recommend Vanessa she is over the top and the very best.
