About Us

After living in Europe, Chicago, Miami and New York, Melviney returned to Los Angeles to pursue her formal design education from FIDM and Woodbury University. She then went on to work for some amazing designers & firms such as Commune Design. Melviney has now focused her talents and experience on projects showcasing her diverse design style. Since 2009, designer+founder Melviney Thompson has offered a wide range of services from interior styling, to large scale remodels for both residential and commercial clientele. Melviney re-invents the conventional ideas of aesthetic design, providing creative solutions, mixing modern, high/low end pieces with traditional and vintage finds while collaborating with local craftsman, artists and trade vendors. Her goal is to take you from concept to completion in an environment that is easy, cost-conscious and sensitive to your design needs.

Please rush to call viney and p to help you with your decorating needs. The owner Melviney is ingenious as a designer "partner"; she takes into account your wishes, personality and aesthetics to form a prospectus interior design plan, but like any good friend pushes you a little outside of your box. Last year, my husband and I purchased a beautiful Spanish home, yet I am more of the streamlined-modern type and did not want to go the expected Latin design route. Melviney was able to satisfy both of our tastes, his more traditional mine more clean. The melding of the two styles cannot be more beautiful and interesting. I love our home and look forward to hiring this company for some outdoor projects.

There is a fine line that separates mediocrity and greatness. From my experience in this industry, I have learned that there are certain characteristics that reflect the latter. Some include timeliness, organization, communication, and attention to detail. As a professional that relies on these when working within a collaborative project framework, I highly recommend the services of Viney and P. All of the design decisions for this project were finalized with materials ordered prior to us breaking ground allowing us to blaze through this project in 12 working days.

Always on task, with a close attention to detail. We were able to work together seamlessly to exceed the client's expectations. They came up with some great concepts for a very unique, clean look. They clearly communicated the client's vision along with their artistic direction, which allowed us to put the "skin on the bones" of their concepts. I have worked with Viney and P on two separate projects and could not have been happier. Melviney has a great eye for color, design and space. She listened to my needs and came with great ideas of her own. She stayed within my budget, which wasn't large, and really delivered with what she had to work with. I have always believed that an interior designer can add true value to a home, both personally and monetarily, and Melviney has proven me right on two separate occasions. I highly recommend Viney and P for any project.

I purchased a 1925 Spanish Style home and Melviney Thompson helped me redesign my kitchen. She created an airy, beach style galley kitchen by widening narrow doorways creating a lighter, naturally lit environment. We selected cabinets, appliances, fixtures, lighting, counter tops, windows, faucets and tiles. The next project will be remodeling the bath, updating the 1970's decor to a more contemporary look. Also, she was extremely helpful in creating a custom built sofa to maximize my living space. I look forward to having Melviney design upcoming remodels.
