I have had two iron pieces made and was extremely pleased with both. One was a console table incorporating an antique gate and the other was a large iron top that held a TV and shelves over a wood piece.

It is with unbridled pleasure that I write the highest commendation for Santa Barbara Forge and Iron (SBFI). Dan Patterson and the SBFI team created the following for my artist live/work loft over a 2-year period beginning in 2013: 1. a steel-plated sliding barn door; 2. a steel rolling ladder that also serves as an easel; 3. steel carriages for two hand-crafted modular islands; and 4. a suspended, curved steel rod hung with plastic curtains that allows me to enclose my painting space. The craftsmanship, utilitarian nature, and sheer beauty of these ultra-modern and thoroughly unique designs not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. These pieces have helped to create an environment that delights everyone who visits. In fact, I have had a significant number of people comment that my place belongs in an architectural magazine! Not only did SBFI's designs and workmanship thrill, but their professional installations of each piece and magnanimous attitude while doing so are worth noting. We had custom made stair railings created & installed by SB Forge & Iron. The initial drawings weren't quite what we wanted. Andy was very understanding and came back with a revised concept that was spot on. We were given a tour of their workshop, which was quite impressive. They delivered on time and installed professionally. The railings are gorgeous and continue to be a conversation piece when we have guests. I would highly recommend them.

The BEST and most qualified of all of the custom ironworks I've ever used. Never an issue and the entire team goes out of their way on every project to insure the satisfaction of both me and my clients. SBF+I did the exterior signs for my business, Santa Barbara Guitar Bar. They were fantastic to work with on both in design and delivery. I asked SG Forge and Iron to design and make a frame that would stabilize an extremely heavy antique stone table. Andy Patterson and his crew were so enthusiastic and innovative in searching for a safe, esthetic solution that was appropriate for the style and age of the piece. I could not be more delighted with the result.

We were redoing our patio area and needed a fence and gate to our pool. I contacted Santa Barbara Forge and Iron - I asked them to design something functional, creative and in keeping with the rest of the patio. They did a fantastic job - we could not be more pleased! It is fun, creative and the quality of work is amazing. The detail put into the slide bolt of the secondary gate - shows the pride in work and attention to detail.

Our experience with Forge and Iron was fantastic from start to finish. Andy Patterson partnered brilliantly with us in creating an original design that perfectly reflected the aesthetic of our home, it's setting, and us as individuals. I've had the pleasure of working with Andy and Dan on two different occasions. The initial communication between us set the basic framework for the projects. Andy and Dan took that initial conversation and translated it into an incredible finished product both times. They have shown themselves to be really good technicians and equally good at bringing an artistic, whimsical tone to their work. It's a kick in the pants to work with them and I will keep coming back. They are currently working on a third (much larger) project and I expect nothing less with this project than I've received on the previous two. I can't wait to see what they come up with this time.
