I hired Pure of Elements of Design to design and renovate the original kitchen ( house was built in 1981) and install hardwood floors in my dining, living and family room. From my first meeting with Carm and Armand until the final completion of the project I have been nothing but grateful for their guidance and expertise. I had a hard time visualizing the finished renovation and relied heavily on their combined expertise throughout the project. I was included in the entire decision process which included acquisition of cabinets, hardware, countertops, tiles, lighting, plumbing fixtures, paint etc. I never felt pressured by either Carm or Armand nor did I feel left out of the process. They both made sure that I understood the process and that there were no hidden surprises. I love everything about the functionality of my kitchen, the attention to detail and the overall appearance of everything. Carm and Armand were amazing to work with.
Having completed this portion of my house renovation I have called upon Pure Elements of Design to once again help me with the renovation of my main floor powder room. I highly recommend their design services.

We highly recommend Armand and his team. Our 25-year-old house needed a major interior facelift in 2014. We talked to other designers, but Armand's knowledge and expertise stood out. He took a small, poorly designed kitchen and gave us space and functionality needed with two kids. The difference was incredible; we have enough cupboard space and room to move. Armand and his team did a fantastic job. Since then, he has renovated our master en suite, the kids and main floor bathrooms. He also helped us choose new flooring.
All these renos were completed on time and on budget. We are so proud of the outcomes and will have him back for our next reno.

Extremely disappointed with what was done in my master bathroom. The project was not cheap. I thought if I pay a lot, the process will be painless but it turned out it is a gang show since November 2020. I will never use them again and I do not recommend them.
The list is very long:
1. Showed them on their website which tiles I want. They delivered different one. When I told Armand this is not the tile I wanted he assured me the results will be same beautiful.
2. White frosty grout on the same tiles turned into grey and brown in some places. They are telling me now the ceramic tiles I have chosen are bleeding to grout. Consulted with another contractor who said grout was not properly mixed. I did not chose the tiles and Armand assured they will look pretty.
3. Contractor -Don Nash- did everything by himself including plumbing and electric. It turned out that shower cartridge/ mixing valve was broken and I was told I have problem with my water heater. I had to call my plumber - pay my plumber- and reliance to learn nothing wrong with my water heater. Don just does not know how to properly instal shower cartridge. There was no padding in the sink faucet. Don was fixing twice but could not locate the leak so finally professional plumber had to show him were to look for a leak. I was told by Don this is a condensation problem.
4. Tub had so many issues the water leaked to my sitting room - Don blamed my kids were for splashing water and I was told by Armand to teach my kids how to use it because this is not a swimming pool. Turned out that there was no padding were the drain is and the shower wand was leaking under the tub. Not to mentioned I had a drain exposed on the side of the tub because tiles were not properly cut. Took me 3 months to made them to cover it. They finally did it after hearing about court.
Btw. They are not planning to fixed my sitting room ceiling because they said my white is already a bit dirty and it will be very hard to much white colour. I thought you suppose to paint the whole ceiling if your lousy job damaged it.
5. Lastly mirror. Not only was replaced 3 times- first was put on silicone with crack, second was not my mirror which was not put straight and I was told that the mirror is put according to grout and grout is not straight. Right now I am waiting for the 4 mirror to create Armand illusion because contractor Don put the lights not symmetrical. One is 11 cm from mirror and the second one is 14 cm from the mirror.
I can send you all the photos if you need too see.

Comment from Pure Elements of Design:
First and foremost, we at Pure Elements of Design take pride in our services and design ability very seriously and would like to apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment that the customer has experienced.
That being said, we have provided solutions and made the necessary repairs at our expense of which we were not responsible for based on our contract to the points listed below.
1.The tiles that were shown on the website were no longer available and out of production which the customer was informed about, and before signing the contract, the customer agreed to the chosen tiles which we agreed would suit the bathroom according to the design.
2.The frosty white grout on the wall was mixed correctly as was the shower wall grout and floor grout. In discussing with the grout company, they informed us that the wall paint colour and the terracotta in the tile reacted to the discoloration of the grout. We tried and applied a grout refresh that unfortunately did not accomplish what we wanted. The customer agreed to leave it as is because the discoloration blended into the tile and did not look offensive. A second contractor caulked and re-painted the complete ceiling in the bathroom.
3.The contractor that worked on the customer’s home has over 20 years of experience and wanted to ensure that all the issues were resolved, but the customer did not want to have him in her home any longer, so we sourced out someone else to fix the issues at hand. The shower cartridge was replaced and the hot water tank that the customer states had no issue, in fact had a regulator/mixing valve issue and needed to be replaced as the contractor was told by the representative of the water tank company. So this is simply a false statement. The padding in the sink faucet is called a gasket and had shifted just slightly from condensation which caused the leak, so a little dab of silicone was applied for this not to happen again.
4.The bath tub had several issues unfortunately caused by several things. One being the hand wand that had an o-ring issue that was continually leaking and dripping onto the floor, along with the children and the customer forcing the water down the hand wand hole opening. This was also replaced. The second was the drain of the tub needed more plumber’s putty as it was a manufacturing defect in the plastic drain, again issued resolved. The floor drain was not exposed. The bath tub was lifted and slightly shifted back to cover the floor drain flange which had no slack, again a manufacturing issue. We offered to share in the expense of professionally painting the main floor ceiling where there was some water damage we believe was caused by the floor drain leak and the forcing of water down the hand wand hole opening, but the customer refused this option.
5.The light fixtures were installed off center and we offered to remove the tile and re-position the light fixture, but advised the customer that if this was to be done, that there were no guaranties of the wall tile to be consistently level with the others, so the customer agreed to go with a larger mirror to create an illusion of the mirror being centered. The first wall mirror did not have the bevel edge finish, so it was removed and a second one re-ordered. The third showed the off center so we replaced it with a final mirror on May 27th that the customer agreed to have.
So, in closing there were product issues out of our control, but we managed to replace the faulty parts from our suppliers and the customer agreed to all of the solutions we provided and executed.

When we first starting researching our home renovation, we quickly realized we needed help. One concept that was key in this relationship was that Carm and Armand listened to us. They came to visit and spent a great deal of time listening to what we wanted from the renovation. They heard what we wanted and worked those items into the plan; they saw our constraints and worked within them. We relied heavily on the their many combined years of design experience to guide us through the process. Cabinets, counters, hardwood, tiles, lighting and electrical fixtures, plumbing fixtures, knobs and pulls, trim, paint and all of the various assortments of colours and finishes. And although we leaned on them often for guidance and advice, we always felt like we were in control. Although we may have had difficulty imagining the final product through all of the little details that needed attending to, Carm and Armand made sure those choices pulled together in a renovation we ultimately are overjoyed with. It is both functional and beautiful. They ensured that the ordering and availability of various components and the scheduling of various contractors was optimized so efficiently that the work was completed in a little over half of the initially required time. We absolutely love the final product and we highly recommend Pure Elements of Design.

Armand and Carm made a major renovation a pleasurable and fun experience. My renovation was challenging on a number of levels - being a 51 year old home, they developed a plan utilizing every square inch in practical ways. They worked with my general contractor and his team in a seamless way in what was clearly a developed rapport, over time. The end result was move in condition, on time and on budget! I enjoyed working with them and learning about my home. I know that I will use their services again.

We have used Armand's services at Pure Elements of Design in the past for our Kitchen which we were so happy with so when it was time for our finished basement project we knew who our man was no questions! Can't say enough amazing things about Armand and his customer service and design expertise. He was super honest with his ideas and really helped take our basement to the next level. People are commenting that our basement looks like it's something out of a magazine and it's not even complete yet. I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to use his services and we will be using him in future when it's time to do other projects without hestation!

Armand and Carm designed and had their contractor (Bill Blundell Contracting) install our new kitchen and family room in August. Contact was very professional throughout. They were always available to discuss issues and listened and responded to our questions very carefully. Then they offered suggestions but were always willing to arrange things as we wanted. The timing of our job coincided with our holidays and they pulled it off perfectly - without a hitch ( which I hear is rare in the reno business these days). The job started as promised and finished on time, if not a bit early.
Their contractor, Bill Bundell, and his team were also highly professional. They arrived on time and were very conscience about cleanliness, which was greatly appreciated. His team consisted of very nice people who worked hard and did a great job!
We would (and already have) recommend Pure Elements of Design and Bill Blundell Contracting to anyone looking for a home renovation!
Bravo Guys and Carm!

We hired Pure Elements of Design to help us with our kitchen renovation. They were fantastic! They truly listen to you and work with you to meet your needs. They don't try to up-sell and they respect your budget. Both Pure Elements and the contractor that they work with were well organized and our renovation was completed on time.

The team from Pure Elements of Design are truly committed to their craft of creating functional, innovative and beautiful living spaces. From original design to completion Armand Pelletier provided excellent customer service creatively advising on layout, materials and finishes. Suppliers were managed very professionally, communications were open and timely. I could not be happier with the finished kitchen and I look forward to working with Armand and Carm again soon.

We purchased an older home last summer that had original EVERYTHING. We hired Armand and Carm to design our new kitchen and main floor. They handled everything from floors to ceiling! The entire process from the first time we sat down with them was not only painless but also fun. They quickly understood our style without us being able to articulate it completely. They sourced the materials so we really only had to visit their storefront and not run all around town. We are very happy with the results. We also used the contractor, Bill Blundell, recommended by Armand. Bill and his team were true professionals. I highly recommend this dynamic duo if you would like a reno process that is fun, creative, on-time and within budget. In fact, I have recommended them to several friends who are now working with them.
