44 Reviews for Tucker Distinctive Kitchens
As part of our business model, we have integrated a system of checks and balances to help the client communicate their vision to ensure we understand their expectations. These include the drawings, computer renderings, checklists, contract, and cabinet samples. At time of purchase, we review each of these in detail; describing every cabinet, selected accessory and moldings, modifications, style and finish selections, to make sure everyone is on the same page. Therefore, we were very surprised when the client notified us after the cabinets were installed that they had expected one of the two islands to be in a different color. It is unclear why the homeowner did not bring this up or question the contract when we met to go through the drawings and contract at time of purchase, or any date prior.
The Cambria Quartz backsplash behind the range was designed and ordered as a 48” wide x 36” high slab. The purchase contract called out the slab at that size. Typical mounting heights recommended for range hoods is between 26” – 36” above the cooking surface and is also defined in the specifications for the range they purchased, the Wolf 48”, as between 30” and 36”. The contractor mounted the range hood directly up at the ceiling instead of providing a stainless-steel extension or soffit/trim, which created a gap above the backsplash slab. We did notify the contractor that the maximum backsplash height available from the slab purchased would be 36”. We are still not sure why the hood was not lowered to meet the recommended specified height.
We again appreciate feedback and will use it to demonstrate the importance of the homeowner reviewing the drawings and contract documents in detail to confirm they reflect their expectations and selections. In the end, the kitchen turned out beautiful and we are certain will provide many years of enjoyment.
